Tip: stack the boxes along the walkway, too, and you can carry 12 on the grid and with patience, another 12 on the walkway. If you the go fill up the buffer, the completely full trip is 34-36 boxes, close to 450k.

Great video :D also...to get your tool to work in hangars what works for me is carry it lowered(hold f and click on tool) and then sit on a box or climb a ladder. also selling at grim hex you are losing about 25k on 12 scu. salvage is my org's main focus its such a fun loop. you can dispose of the extra small bits by making tools/attachments from the hopper.
  • @GAExperience
I always use the multytool in the hangar with my Vulture. It works and I always sell the second load
  • So you can't frack a ship if the power is on, so it could be in nav mode with the shields down but the power on. Beams usually work in ships in hangers so you can probably report that as a bug. Also, you can scan the ships if you want to make sure the owner isn't around, it would show GameRules as the owner, which means it's abandoned
  • @AthosRac
You actually can move boxes with the multitool in any hangar. Everyone fills the left side of the cargo too.
  • @AgentFPS
my multi tool works in all the hangars. I just sometimes have to unequip it and re-equip it but yeah hangars are good to go for multi tools
  • @jonathanp906
Thats weird you can't use the multi tool at Grim Hex. I've been doing it at the main cities no problem.
  • Nice video. I think the problem with invisible walls is abandoned / destroyed ships that had their model removed by the server but not some invisible component of the ship. This same thing was happening to me when approaching or departing landing pads and hangars. I started coming in very, very slowly and it stopped happening. I did witness my hull flashing red while landing super-slow a couple of times but did not blow up.
  • @Goku16
I'm currently doing the Cargo moving to my C1 all the time. I land them both on the Landing pad, then use the tractor beam from the C1 to load and unload the ships. Gives me 2-3 Vulture loads before I go sell.
  • You can use your multitude inside the hangers. It's a feature that's been open for a while now.
  • @dmandn
Why fly out of armistice to eject the boxes? You can do this, including use of tractor beam while still in a hangar in armistice.
  • @Tainted-Soul
every time I've tried to do a ship by a station it gives me a crime stat you CAN use the tractor beam in your ship that's in a hanger you can craft stuff that uses all the .70 stuff up CMC

As someone who doesn't currently play the game but is somewhat interested and recently started looking into this stuff, does salvage absolutely require certain ships or is it possible to get into it with hand tools or something? From what I've seen of this game, it seems like my preferred playstyles would primarily be the non-combat options - salvage, mining, cargo running, etc. I'm really not a combat type of gal, haha. I've been burned by games before that stayed in alpha pretty much permanently though (and I'll admit that so far, this game doesn't fill me with confidence), so most likely the only ship I'd ever purchase out of game would be one of the starter packages and everything else I'd work toward in-game. It seems pretty clear that cargo running is available to pretty much every ship with space for at least 1 box so that's an easy "yes", and in your mining video you briefly mentioned that's able to be done by hand so that also seems viable to try out as a new player once I figure out how, so now I'm just left wondering if salvage is an option without investing into very specific ships. Obviously a starter ship wouldn't be able to carry nearly the same amount of product, but I'm less concerned with "is this a viable way to make money as a new player" and more wondering "is this a viable way to get into the game and have fun without significant investment", if that makes sense. Anyway I loved the videos of yours I've seen so far, I look forward to checking out a few others!

Jeezus, I need to use my Vulture and not my Prospector! 300K is a nice run!
  • @Eriodas
I thought you were going to do a video on the Depot Bug (which is basically RMC for free) that salvage ships are having right now (Reclaimer included). I don't know if the bug affects averyone, but the thing is that you just have to salvage like normal (if you just claimed the ship) and then after you finish your run, put all the rmc in boxes and sell it. If you don't claim the ship again but use the same ship, the next time you go to salvage and use the scrapper the depot of the ship will magically fill with the same amount of RMC you got in the previous run (basically filling it). Spoiler alert: be prepared to wait again for demand of RMC.
  • I'm with you on "they will nerf salvage payout" They have made almost every other job payout almost not worth it.
  • Don't do the ships, do the panels.... go out pinging and look for 2000 6000 8000 and above on your scanner. You get about 7scu for the square panel but also go slow as they lag in. I've done about 480k per hour

Looking for ships so close to Grim Hex is very dangerous. Do not recommend that idea in the least.
