I love the museum, especially when hardly anyone is there!

The dinosaurs in the Field Museum are great, but the modern animal section is definitely the strongest exhibit. The way they displayed the specimen and designed the environment around them with the plants growing by the side was really lifelike.

This is a very small part of the museum. The vast majority of specimens are stored away. Kind of sad that the full scope of the museums collection is not available for the public to see.

Does anyone know exactly which tyrannosaur was pictured in the dinosaur part of the video? I think it's a Daspletosaurus, because it looks pretty big so that would rule out Albert, or Gorgo, and it has the distinctive brow horns of an early tyrannosaur.

Messed up on the Kodiak Bears-Didn't show the big guys face on first pan! At 3;48
  • guys I don't know a lot about dinosaurs but where's the shoulder and pelvis bones and joints on most of them idk if it's because some of the bones are reconstructions but they look weird with the arms and legs only connected to the rib cage.

Where's the gigantic whale shark in the basement? Did they remove it?

My favorite place to visit in Chicago (besides Wrigley Field.) I'm a little surprised such an honorable institution would not leave the issue of evolution vs. creationism more open to discussion. Especially for the many school groups that visit on a daily basis. Less than half of earth scientists still believe in Darwin's theories...
