Over the years there's been many Hot Wheels with really weird gimmicks, so in this video I wanted to go over all the most interesting ones I could possibly find! The fact that a simple hotwheel can be a fidget toy, a dice, a camera, or even a musical instrument is truly fascinating!
I've already made a hotwheel video a while ago, and now that my content style has gotten a lot better I decided to give it a re-do. This time we are focusing specifically on the silly gimmicks, so there might be some repeats from my previous hotwheel video. Hope you enjoy 😁 Also I moved into a new house before recording the on-camera sections, so there's echoey audio and not the best lighting. Honestly, as someone who grew up with a Hot Wheels obsession in the 2000's, these videos have been a nice trip down memory lane, pun fully intended. I think you do a good job explaining why Hot Wheels are so fascinating both as Toys and as a brand. I remembered some of the gimmicks you talked about like the Lightracers, but stuff like the Split Racers I never heard about! So thanks for the video! 😃

I actually used the wrench gimmick when I was working on a project and just happened to find this old hotwheel, and it works fairly well.

PONGON! if you want to get rid of the drawing on the car at 7:13, then use hand sanitizer, it works, i've fixed stuff with dat before.

fun fact the wrench on the tooligan is 13 mm which is one of the most used wrench sizes as 13 mm almost exactly equals 1/2 inch. The socket on the bottom is 10 mm which is popular enough that there is a meme in the mechanic community about 10 mm sockets constantly getting lost.

As a kid on a family trip to New York we went to the big Toys R Us with the ferris wheel in the middle (it shut down 😭) My mom gave me a whole 100 dollars to spend for the day thinking i would spend it all on different things. I went STRAIGHT to the hotwheel section and blew it all on the sickest most awesome cars.

Our very first YouTube videos were filled with a Hotwheels video racer. The part about it that frustrated me the most as a kid was the lack of storage, It could only record for a couple minutes. Everything else about it was awesome, even though the video quality wasn't that good it still provided a very unique perspective. It was like my childhood dream came to life and appeared in my local Target!
