basically side chaining

1. Pick a good 808 w a decent transient 2. Boost 2-4% 3. Add some high end on the EQ setting in the sampler 4. (At this point it should be slamming through the mix / redlining the mixer) 5. Add a fruity compressor / threshold it at 0 / compress to liking, add slight gain to have it peaking just slightly 6. Add fruity limiter and turn everything down to 0 except threshold, make sure it doesn't pass 0, add slight saturation to get a little crunch 7. Pull the mixer gain .5-1 DB so you have a little headroom, but for a trap beat ur 808 should by far be the most focused point, cause if ur 808 doesn't slap the beat doesn't slap 8. Now ur 808 sounds industry ready and doesn't destroy your entire mix by clouding it :)

Well.. just I think pushing back 808's attack is a tip to do a clean mixing without changing phase..

Hitting hard!!🔥

Man discovers sidechaining. Try using volume automation for sidechaining as it gives way more control.

Put an EQ on 808, Add a Peak controller on Kick Link first frequency from EQ to peak controller & invert the scale. Thank me later
-
putting ur kick at a lower note in the piano role also helps them hit harder 🙇♂️

Damn that’s shyt did sound hard 😂
-
Right click the sidechain dropdown and pick the exact channel you want. Don't tell them to just pick "1". Granted it'll only have the channel you have side chained to it, but knowing that in and of itself has some uses for someone who has no idea what sidechain compression is used for as it is.

bro just explained side chaining like its some secret trick he found
-
when mike dean, alex tumay, and kenny beats all say dont sidechain, i think its best to look at the more effective alternatives

This is a tip? Thought sidechaining was a must for kick and bass lol
-
bro try removing the fruity limiter on the master then add a soft clipper thats it

People saying not to do this don't understand clashing frequencies, the kick and the 808 have the same low end frequencies at around 35 in the eq, both the kick and 808 frequencies are clashing causing clipping and distortion, if u sidechain the kick to the 808 this solves this issue by letting one frequency stand out. If you don't want the 808 to stand out, then just don't use a kick. Stop complaining about it doesn't sound good, because in the right context it does, if you want an unprofessional mix then go on ahead.
