  • Askeladd being there in spirit form giving his boy advice was a great highlight

I got chills when we see a flash of Thorfinn as a warrior. A stark reminder that despite Thorfinn's decision to be a pacifist, he still possess most of his skills and fighting experience that allowed him to survive countless battles and Thorkell.

This is the first time Thorfinn has fought to save a life instead of taking one. It's a monumental moment of his development as a character.

Man Snake getting chills knowing that he's dealing with a real warrior

I'm sorry Thorfinn, I know you did not want to revisit that side of you, but boi did i miss it.. total goosebumps!
  • @deadsoon
They animated one of my favorite panels in the series so well 😭
  • @daenopher
THAT FIRST SHOT OF THORFINN with his quivering face really killed me! It portrays his conflicting emotions so well! And when he puts on his "stance" I immediately thought of a boxer, or another "non-deadly" martial art that focuses more on "knock you out" than "cut your stomach with a sword". Brilliant scene!
  • He's not choosing violence, he's choosing to use force to protect someone who cannot protect themself
  • @Odysseus7799
This is where Thorfinn starts to really understand what his father had been trying to teach him. That you can still protect that what you hold dear without taking a life. What it truly means to be a warrior.
  • The moment Askeladd appeared after that scene , this felt so sad and nostalgic

Even in death Askeladd still a good mentor

“That’s an odd stance. Not right for a spear or an ax… A sword? No… * Me shouting at the screen * DAGGERS I love how the series alludes to Snake being an awesome and cunning warrior in his own right without telling us anything about him: we know he trained Thorgil, we know Thorfinn sensed danger/warrior spirit from him similar to Askellad at the start of the season, and his sword suggests that he was a high-ranking warrior from a foreign country, perhaps Constantinople.
  • @Bullevue
From Snake's perspective he probably thought Thorfinn was feeling fear. It kinda shows by the way he's looking at him until Thorfinn goes into his stance. The second he closes his fist and steady's himself Snake's instinct kicks in telling him that Thorfinn is not a threat to take lightly. I know this is probably obvious but I love the complete visual story telling. This scene is so sick and beautifully animated.
  • I love how Throfinn's hand is trembling at 1:30 but as soon as he clenches his fist (or grabs his imaginary daggers) it is dead calm. In that moment he let go of anything holding him back and reverted to the state of mind which he would be in during the countless battles he has fought over the years.

I got goosebumps when thorfinn made a fist
  • @NaiveAgenda
That animation of Snake getting like a full body synapses firing to Thorfinn preparing to fight was fire. Shows that Snake is fully aware of what the kid is most likely capable of.
  • @renz6938
seeing thorfinn fight like that, just gives me season 1 vibes
  • I got chills when Thorfinn assumed his fighting stance. An action so simple but there's so much weight behind it given his history and his vow
  • He went from the Punisher to Daredevil, character development at its finest 👌🏼
