Making an Adapter Plate for Transmission Dyno! | Machining & Milling

Published 2024-02-08
Watch us repurpose and transform an old flex plate into the heart of a transmission dyno! We’re starting with a flex plate off a Caterpillar 16M Grader transmission and will be adapting it to suit the drive coupling off a massive Transmission dyno! This old plate is SUPER hard so it definitely puts our machining inserts, drills and endmills to the test 💪

In this video we are using:
- Hafco TM-26120G Centre Lathe
- Hafco BM-63VE Milling machine

  • @Hey_Its_That_Guy
It must be a such a challenge working with actors who can't remember their lines. At least Homey and George are always spot on! 🤣
  • @johnparker221
Karen. I am not sure what is more brilliant. Your filming, your editing or your direction of Kurtis. You are amazing.
  • @everestyeti
What I like about this channel is there in no drama, must be an Aussie thing and everything is explained which is really useful when your clueless like me. 😂🤣
  • @rogarmadz
I fell asleep waiting for CEE, wife Karen, married 53 years, woke me up and said your favorite machine shop show is on! OK, thanks. Watched Kurtis do his magic with KAREN'S supervising and doing HER magic on the camera, got to see Homeless, my German Shepard loves hearing Homeless play. He sits next to me, watching what's going on. I love all the machine work! THANK YOU FOR SHARING (PARTS) OF YOUR DAY WITH US. STAY SAFE!
  • Yep 11 PM on the West Coast & up pops Homie. Guess it’s time to open a beer and relax.
  • @Alan_Hans__
The director, cameraman, editor and Kurtis's wife put up with a hell of a lot. Having to deal with temperamental talent that forgets their lines all the time :/ Absolutely awesome creative work on your filming and editing Karen. <3
  • @Paul_Au
I love the machining but I also love all the other stuff. The dog, the birds, the background explanations. The friendship between husband and wife. As everyone else says... "Keep it up"... but I'll add "As long as it's still fun."
  • @TheUncleRuckus
I love the outtakes at the end, every time Curtis does the hmmmm, just kills me! 😂👍👍
  • @blockbertus
2:22 I never understood how the springs in a flexplate are supposed to work. After seeing this one taken apart, it finally clicked. Thanks for all the videos!
  • @tedmich
Karen you are so good dealing with that diva performer, just the right touch. And you're good with Curtis too!
  • @motjuste8549
The cinematography here is next-level. Loved the shot of the tabs hitting the floor. Pure artistry. And Homeless steals the show again. He's such a good boy.
  • @rickf5615
Kurtis is right at home working on anything automotive related, loved the comparison to his old drift cars. Kind of surprised to see the outtake of the bickering but also noted it ended with laughter. You two are a real fire and ice, oil and water couple. Karen has the patience of a saint!
  • the other day I was sitting in my room at my computer watching CEE videos when my wife yelled from another room "do you get stabbing pains in the back when you sit at the computer?" I reply "no, not really"...half a minute later the wife yells out..."How about now?" All jokes aside the material was extremely hard.Watching that metal glow nearly white hot was amazing to watch! Good job not annihilating bits by the dozens. Keep up the excellent work!
  • @stoichiometry147
This channel is gold. Wildlife, dogs, machining, and engineering . The fact, you add screw ups and outtakes to the end takes it from 100% awesome to 150%
  • @cyberherbalist
All this time I thought Curtis was starting these videos saying "Hey young guys..." and wondering why he thought old guys (like me) wouldn't be watching these videos. But today I accidentally had the closed captioning on, and was surprised to discover that he was saying "How you going guys?"! I guess I need to brush up on my 'Stralian.
  • @MontanaCheeky
The range of projects one man, a ton of skill and a workshop can achieve is amazing. Great work Kurtis and video production work as always Karen.
  • @ypaulbrown
