You are clearly new to this game fellow Tarkhan :) Dont worry. A good mix of gunnery practice, flight simulations and a study on tactics will help you improve your performance and win those fights. Here a few free advices: Try to focus your fire on one opponent... it's better to take out the enemy's offensive capabilities to inflict harm upon you and to 'even the odds' as quickly as you can. If you face several opponents: Try to manuver in such a way that only one enemy can effectively fire at you, or that the fire of the enemy comes from only one side/direction, as this will make evasion MUCH easier. If the enemy has proximetry shells (the white ones), try to keep a bit more distance than you otherwise would, this will give you SLIGHTLY more time to manuver and evade, as prox. fuses will make near-misses into hits and if you get a full-blast, especially to an unarmored ship they can be VERY nasty. Dont hold your fire for too long... even if you dont do any EFFECTIVE damage upon the enemy at first glance, your basic HE shells are unlimited and there is a max. capacity for the loading process, so sitting on tons of ammo without doing anything wont help you. If 70-80% of your shots miss, it is a shame, but its not the end of the world, though improving your aim will help a lot :) Last but not least: Dont hesitate to retreat a badly damaged ship from a fight. Saving the crew and the ship for another fight, or to scrap the ship afterwards is always better than to make a defiant last stand of no significance. Also keep in mind that you can have your Crew abandon the ship, it will naturally mean that the ship is a complete loss, but you might be able to save a few dozen more lives if your ship has escape shuttles. Now, get back out there Tarkhan and take the fight to the Gathering, Dismissed!

Now this is the real kind of situation for wich tank a lelec was composed, you may have superial number and better guns in some ships But you’re using standard light wheight unarmored agile hulls with the scouting one only armed with ciws being the first in the fight youre being forced to maneuver due to the standard hulls and so the enemy is exactly designed to counter you, has enough armor to stand medium caliber guns and using proxy fuzes, perfect to shot down lightly armoured scouts without proper aiming... so confident that they dont even maneuver to dodge your fire, instead, the scout is forced to do a solostand, not to survive, that being impossible, not to win time, the rest of the recon group is to far to arrive in time, not even to do what damage you can, you can not do more else than scratch their armor with your apfsds designed to shotdown missiles, the scout finds itself in the killzone of the enemy gunners every 5 seconds with them not even doing an effort to 0 on you, for the more you do the manuveirng and dodging, you are a papercraft that the shrapnel of the proxyfuzes can do critical damage when detonate somewhat far from your position, slowly being rip apart by the near misses and the firecontrol systems being overwhelmed by incoming fire to intercept, erratical evasive maneuvers and return fire to do, the enemy brutally ends with your scout in less than a mere minute. as the rest of the taskforce come in to avenge the scout, even though eventually the big upgunned ones come in, only for the whole story to be hopelessly repeated you see your medium caliber shells bouncing off their armor and you give the order to banadon ship before it suffers the same fate as the scout, you’re now outmatched in every way, firepower, size, protection, number, you are being forced to be a scatered taffy 3, only to not survive this one but actually do what damage you can by ramming your heaviest scoutingship, luckyly destroying one of them but leaving the other one totally undamaged, finally, the flagship of the recon group comes in to duel the remaining juggernaut but soon you seem trapped once again, outflanked by enemy reinforcements, your crew now is demoralized and act erraticly underpanic, leading to a crash in the hurry of getting out of there, now your combat force is vanished, resting beneath the smoke in the form of ashes, your survivors witnesses how the enemy patrol devours your support vessel. thankfully for them, you where only a light recon taskforce against a combat patrol of theirs, though intact against the cwis you still managed to blow a punch only to uptone the tank a lelec vibes when the’ll sight your flagship

next time try to fly just under the thrusters and blast full burst into there. With big ships its always fastest way to get to fuel tanks.
