Shannon Sharpe says he "wouldn't change anything about my life because it made me who I am."

Sharpe explains that he lived his life for one person - his grandmother who took him in at 3 months old and raised him and his brother Sterling. Their family often had 7-10 people living in this cinder block walled and cement floored home with no plumbing. Living on just $394/mo, Sharpe explains that he chose to pursue football because he felt it was the fastest way to get his grandmother a better life. Sharpe lived his life "to be an all-time great grandson".

Wow! Your granny did a wonderful job and raised a humble man.
  • It always hurts when you lose your grandparent. I lost both my grandmothers a year with each other in 2020 and 2021. I still miss them because I would call them once a week. I still ahve my grandfather at 91 and I still call him once a week. At least I can say I won't ever regret spending enough time with them.
