Congratulations on your getting a dairy cow. I noticed the butter you were slathering on your bread looked homemade. I've been farming for some years but that's my next move a dairy cow. Cant get fresh raw milk within decent distance. I've have horses for years, I'm currently using them to rejuvenate my pasture by rotational grazing prepping for a mini jersey for myself and is going to be a blessing. I've been fermenting foods too, I'm new to that as well. It's been quite an adventure in my later 50s turning back to the old ways but my health is most important and I'm enjoying all of this. So I just wanted to say congrats to you. Your family will be extremely healthy for all your doing. God Bless

3:35 this particular edition of the book is really good. I also recommend the books by Gianaclis Caldwell.

I have the Cuisinart food processor, and the bread recipe they provide for the machine is awesome. You rise the dough in a zip lock bag. I never had bread fail me with that method. Very sturdy machine.

OMG!! you got a milk cow!!! I’ve been wanting one but my husband works out of town so I can’t have one at this time! Have fun with your new toys

I hurriedly made muffins yesterday to take to a bereaved family. I was so thankful I did not have to spend time picking through wheat berries. Pleasant Hill Grains are so clean. Thank you for introducing them to me! ❤

I’ve had that exact cheese press for years. It’s wonderful. Enjoy your journey into cheese making.

Felicia: One not bread related way, is to use your malted barley syrup to make chocolate malt drinks. My hubs was disappointed when ice cream shops changed from malt syrup to malt flavored powder for malted milk drinks. But I have used this malted barley syrup in his homemade chocolate malts and he raves about how good they are. It only requires 1 tablespoon in the blender put the milk in first then the malted barley syrup use a couple of pulses to blend well, then desired amount of chocolate ice cream or vanilla and the amount of chocolate syrup finish blending for a hot day treat.

Hope you never leave You Tube. I tried the other Chanel you recommend and it was difficult to get set up. So I gave up.

You said the soft white wheat was in sealed milar bags. I just bought a bucket and it was in a blue plastic bag, not sealed at all. The same with the rye that I bought from them.

The cheese press is interesting. Surprisingly I haven’t seen one, I have lived in rural Wisconsin for 63 + years

How do you keep your bread from being too dense when using home milled wheat? Every loaf I have made with home milling has been too dense
