Footpatrol x New Balance 1906R "X-Ray": Review & On-Feet

UK retailer, Footpatrol, released this epic New Balance 1906R collab back in May inspired by X-Rays. This colourway features a mesh build in various blue tones, and translucent TPU overlays with white accents. A X-Ray image of a foot adorns the insole as well, tying it back to the theming perfectly.     I also picked these up when they released. I really like these a lot. I love the shades of blue they used. One of my favorite 1906’s this year and was a nice consolation prize when I failed to hit on every single Action Bronson release 😂

    Thanks for the review, Sean. Passed on these on release day as I wasn't too sure about the mix of cool tones on the upper with the warm tones on the tooling, but over time I started to really appreciate the concept and the anatomical look to them. The N-ergy pillars and Stability Web plate in particular really look like muscle fibers. Kicking myself now for not getting them 😮‍💨

    love the colorway. NB original design givess colab brands more design freedom with the plastic heel cup. Some with solid, other with transparent colors. I'd also love their wavy rope laces, one of the very reason I picked up my very first pair of 1906R. Nylon laces come loose very easily for me but once you have this waviness added, they stay locked.

    Nice color way, one that I passed on since it came out at the same time action Bronson’s did and still didn’t cop. Should have just got these for retail…

    I love these but the conversion rate is so bad, I just couldn't do it (total was around 220 USD after shipping). I have smaller feet so maybe I'll just wait for them to go on sale, as they're currently sitting in my size 🤞
