He's not actually as disrespectful as he's made out to be, he just has a fighting strategy that relies on faints and being unpredictable. What people call "showboating" is often actually a tactical way to disguise his next move. (Though of course sometimes it really is just showboating.)

He mocks people but there's one really nice aspect to his gloating: This dude does not leap after a KO'd opponent to get in a few last hammerfists. He knows when they're done and he doesn't touch them after that point.
