The first two appraisers need to be named. Anyone that has had their property appraised by either of those two need to have their properties reappraised.

When she said "I'm devaluing my home" that hit me like a punch in the gut. I have lived in my first home for 5 years and all you do is worry about maintaining and increasing its value. To think that one's existence is damaging that value... What a f**** disgrace. I'm so sorry this happened, it's a crime. It's a violation of our civil society

This is not a new practice, it literally has been done since the 1950's
  • @ohnoyoudint1407
There should be lawsuits not just complaints. That’s a civil rights violation
  • @mikehunt6107
She is not the one devaluing her house. Those crooks appraising it are.
  • @mastergirl922
Why does this keep happening? They KEEP saying systemic racism isn't a thing, but we literally have to become invisible to get an accurate appraisal for our properties.

"I'm the thing that's devaluing my house." Wow. That hit really hard.
  • @KevinP32270
this has been going on forever. glad she kept fighting.

Why is there race or ethnic questions in a refinance application? When selling, refinancing, or buying a home there should be no race questions 😒

Me and my wife were planning to have a house built in Texas my wife already had a white couple to pose as us because we know the value would be a lot higher SMDH

My white contemporaries feel that their home values are devalued because of their black neighbors. Perhaps they should face up to what the real problem is. Segregation driven by cultural racism is costly to all parties.

But they say....... "No one is holding you back but yourself!!" Yeah, aight!!
  • @REDDLADY2
There is probably lots of generational wealth that's lost due to this practice.
  • This is just horrible, especially when you’re a black, middle-aged female too. This is why it’s so difficult for us to accumulate generational wealth. It’s just pure discrimination.

"People always complain about racism. " YEAH because it's still happening WTF.
  • "Independent appraisers" and "automated valuation models." So that's what banks call red lining these days.
  • It broke my heart when she said she realized she was the thing that was bringing down the value of her home 😭😭😢😢😢😢😡😡😡
  • @Stiglr
This is what is meant by *systemic* racism. It's built into the very algorithms of these appraisal companies. It's built into the *process*. And it's in NO WAY an accident.
  • @jtjr26
A clear case of institutional racism. The mortgage industry hides behind code words like industry standards and automated valuation models.
