  • I switched from tandem’s control IQ to Omnipod 5 and love it! Being tubeless is amazing and the system works very well. The algorithm takes a few pods to learn you and continuously learns. I’ve never been kicked from auto mode so that was interesting to hear about. I can’t see going back to a tubed pump.

I'm 6 pods in. And the omnipod 5 is amazing!! I'm more in range at night. My best day was Feb 4th with 98% in range. And I been 80+ in range. And this is my first pimp. So far I'm really amazed!! Love your videos!!
  • AWESOME vid!! Awaiting my introductory kit for OmniPod 5! This answered most of my questions. GREAT OVERVIEW! Clear and concise!! My diabetes educator will be impressed with my knowledge! Thank-you!

I'm getting ready to go on an insulin pump and the info you shared was very helpful. Thank you!
  • I´m impressed with the way you handdle Diebetes! Feeling inspired 😘

I LOVE my Omnipod 5 - I was on the original, and skipped over the dash due to not having the right phone for that one - and the 5 is helping me not crash every morning with low BS. I feel so much better as well, since I'm more on target throughout the day.
  • You look great. Been a t1 30 years diagnosed at 9 so I'm 39 years young which basically makes me 21 in my dreams! Anyways I'm excited. Have had Tandem and renewal is coming up
  • Thanks so much for this well explained info , I have an omnipod since 2019 and love it I’ve been waiting for the 5 with the Dexcom for a long time, I presume I can continue using my mmol /l rather than the mg/dl .

This is really helpful as my pump is out of warranty. I was looking at if changing pumps would be helpful or not. If you ever did a comparison of the 3 options in the US, I would find that very interesting! Thank you for what you do!

Thank you for making this video. I am working on getting my iPhone 12 hooked to it. Still having troubles.

Great vid. Can you use a libre 3? I know the automatic function is not there and they can’t talk to each other.

This is definitely pretty cool, but I still prefer using the Dash with DIY Loop. With 3.0 you can connect directly to your iPhone. Until Omnipod 5 gives me direct connection to my iPhone without having to carry around an additional device, I just don't want to make the switch. But Loop 3.0 is AMAZING.

I had an Omnipod and really loved the ease of it and that it was tubeless, but the cannula is a 'one size fits all' type. It is integrated into the pod, so if you don't get on with that cannula, then you need to find another pump. Sadly, I found that the cannula in the Omnipod wasn't dispersing the insulin very well in my body. I was moved over to the Medtronic pump with a steel needle infusion. This has really helped control my levels. I really do miss the ease of the Omnipod and the fact that it's tubeless. It's only to cannula options that caused me to change over to Medtronic.
  • Any information in connection between the pod and dexcom? With my tandem I HAVE to have my dexcom sensor and actual pump on the same side of my body otherwise I lose connection to my dexcom! Is this the same with the omnipod or can you have a pod on the opposite side form the dexcom.

I'm doing the 30-day trial of the omnipod 5 and I like the tubeless feature but not a fan of the large PDM. I have an iPhone and since it's not compatible with the omnipod, I have to carry around both the iPhone and the PDM which, for me, is a hassle. I've been on the t-slim for many years and will continue to use that pump.

Have your patients had any issues with the dawn phenomenon on the omniPod? Does it learn ultimately to handle it? Thanks.

I'm considering changing from Tandem IQ to Omnipod 5? Mainly due to consistently awakening at night with the default high glucose setting of 200! My question is: Can Omnipod high alarms be set to a custom level that would work for me personally and allow a better night's sleep! Good video! Thx
