Thats great strategy Mr. Burke! Lets keep all four superstar-salary players, and as a result have a bargain-basement goalie, bargain basement defence and mediocre supporting forwards! Because Mitch is too good to move anywhere! It's such ridiculous logic that misses the big picture entirely. It's like they had 4 elite goaltenders, but to have that they needed to have crap defence and forwards "But we can't get rid of any of them! They're elite goaltenders!" Total refusal to see how keeping all four kills this team.

Marner has No trade clause... he's not going anywhere without his permission.....period. letting him walk is almost unthinkable. The time to trade him has passed and that's why we are in this mess. Nylander is the same thing.

I'm an oilers fan but i think after couple years of being eliminated you gotta shake things up, trade one of the top boys for a good defenseman and gain your depth on the back end . If oilers can do it you can do it .

They might be the most proven group of post season losers in any sport ever. But they're all too good to move on from...we need to move on from some of these hockey "experts" as well.

They already have assets that are going to need money too. Knies and Cowan especially. Don't risk our future with them for a guy that gets slapped around in the playoffs.

I like Matthews as a more 'compete' player without Marner feeding him. Big mistake attaching Marner on his wing full time. Force a trade this summer or let him walk for the cap space.

Please, we don't need those too good of players leaving us with no defense and no goalie. The game involves more than just scoring.

Trade marner for a top pairing defensemen and a depth centre. It’s a big loss up front but he sleeps through the playoffs every year so I’d rather have a more well rounded team for cheaper.

Get rid of him

Trade him before the draft for a top ten pick, use the cap space to resign Bertuzzi and get some defensive help.
