Is there a right way to beat the Game of the Year: Elden Ring?
Did you ever want to know how Fromsoft intends Elden Ring to be played? Well, we kinda officially have the answer. How much of this did you already know / do? Once the Elden Ring DLC drops I think there will be a vol 2 of this book in which case you will hear from me again.

Music used is mainly from Cult of the Lamb.

  • Fun fact: After learning the grovel gesture from Patches, if you attack him enough to aggro him and then use the gesture, he will forgive you.

You've heard it here folks, FromSoft specifically expects you to use summons and level vigor, who knew

TiL the strategy guide actually gives legitimately good strategies. This seems pretty solid.
  • Fighting tree sentinels and the dragons on horseback was so obvious to me the first time I felt absolutely insane when I saw that most people didn’t seem to do that, so seeing that fromsoft had indeed planned for that made me feel good lol
  • It’s a testament to the incredible world design, but I was amazed at how thoroughly I had explored the world by just checking out anything that caught my eye and not concerning myself with whether or not I was missing anything. I figured that a true adventurer works with what they find. Plus, I figured it would make later play throughs exciting when I discover new things that I missed previously. I still occasionally find new stuff, but I got about 90% of the loot by just wandering wherever I wanted. This game seems like it should NEED a guide, but the devs did such a good job guiding the player without letting the player even realize they’re being guided.
  • 3:20 if you kill Patches, give his Bell Bearing to the Twin Husks at Roundtable. You can then purchase Margit’s shackles which also work for toggling off and on those dratted dungeon fire squirter columns.

This video proved perfectly how easy the game can be. I definitely used some OP stuff in my first playthrough. We all probably did tho. Nice video man, one of your best on Elden Ring.

"Cripes, are you dense boy?" That was great dialogue lol

No joke, this was my play style. Bows for the birds, guard counters etc.
  • I love the way hints are built in : big like the directional arrows from sites of grace or small like lanterns or loot showing you’re on the right path. Great game, utterly deserving of the Game of the Year award. Long live the Tarnished.

Gladly and surprisingly, I played my 1st walkthrough in from software’s intended way.
  • So glad to see your channel finally REAALLY popping off. I used to watch your terraria let's play vids way back and I'm so happy/proud your channel is doing so well and that you were able to branch out and keep a consistent following. much love man <333

My goal is to win battles and have fun, not be frustrated. Sometimes that means baiting an enemy to a doorway they can't fit through, and cheesing them down. Sometimes that means pulling out a Moonveil and laying waste mercilessly to my foes. If Fromsoft allows a tactic, or sets up the environment in ways that you can take advantage, then it's viable. Fuck the elitism.

Ive been waiting for this!! I believe its two volumes. Also, ive I guess cheesed so many bosses or tough enemies like the golem in Caelid or the night cavalry with arrows, they tend to slowly walk back to their starting area if you move far enough away from them.

Speaking of the Elden Beast tip, that was something I didn’t really notice but I usually ran away to the opposite direction of the beast right before the rings started to appear and the beast actually was within melee range after I avoided the rings attack. I can confirm that the thorn is facing the Beast’s 12 o’clock direction.
  • I did not discover what guard counters were until I reached Malenia… that realization hurt. Thought they were something only enemies could do
  • Excellent. Just bought the book and decided to get some advice on its contents. Yours is the best by far. Looking forward to the second book coming out soon. Well done and many thanks. Subbed and belled. Cheers, Harry.

Apparently I played my first playthrough the "intended" way. Who knew?
