INFO: James Douglas Morrison, Better known as Jim Morrison was a poet, songwriter, and probably best known for being the distinctive voice of The Doors, one of the most beloved bands of the 60s and 70s. But it wasn’t just the poetry and the music Morrison made with his band that made him stand out. He also had a wild personality, an intense stage presence and outrageous lifestyle. Throughout his entire life, he had somewhat of an obsession for death and personal reinvention and discovery. This came out as vulgar and gloomy themes and disturbing characters in his lyrics. Some would argue that these characters represented Morrison’s alter-egos. Segments of his self-sabotaging behaviour as he dealt with the sudden fame and acceptance. In this video we’ll examine these characters in order to understand Jim Morrison’s personality even better.

No, "blood in the streets " in Peace Frog is from "Abortion Stories" in his notebooks. Its not about the natives accident. "Indians scattered on dawns highway " IS a direct reference, however.

LA Woman hadn't been mixed when he left, it's part of what made Ray uneasy about his travelling to Paris. Jim left during the early mixing process just after all the recordings had been done, trusting that Ray, Robbie and John would do a good job without him. Also good to note that whilst in Paris he spoke to Robbie on the phone and talked about wanting to go back on tour to play the songs from LA Woman, with that being the last contact he had with the band before his passing

Everything about Jim is incredibly interesting, his outlook on life is just so different than most. If he were still alive today, he would be one of the most influential people in the world. If you let him convince you to look at the world through his perspective one time it gets addicting.
  • 5:35 his dad couldn't possibly be any more wrong. He's one of the most talented and unique songwriters I've ever heard. His melodies are extraordinary.

“People are strange when you’re a stranger” Eternal words from a broken poet. Let’s never say Jim is survived by the characters he left behind, he wouldn’t want that
