  • Don’t take anything away from the driver of the R32, he is one of the best and talented drivers I’ve race against! That is why I had the confidence to run the outside line beside him. My car is no normal Mx5, I built it with the intention of taking on some serious cars. It is a Gokart on steroids and so much more lighter and nimble than the R32. It is powered by the original Mazda Bp engine, turbocharged on e85 fuel. Thanks to everyone for the positive comments👍 it means a lot! Cheers

Whoever’s behind the wheel of that Miata is an absolute weapon. Great driving by both guys 🤘

One thing I noticed is how many cool races Australia is giving the rest of the world. I still remember that Cox guy with his Honda Civic passing BMWs, Mercedes and what nots while fightint for first place against an AE86, and now this. These are the races I want to watch on TV.

That little m5 has some grip. Great driving from both of them.

This is the best and most entertaining racing I’ve seen in years!
  • @Powerhauz
Mmm yeah. Gonna need the deets on that little fucking beast. Gonna want the MX5's build out too. Got anymore footage? This was fantastic. Another!

The Skyline didn't stand a chance with all those turns lol. The Miata's just too nimble.

Thank u guys for sharing these local races from Australia. I used to be a big fan watching FIA touring car races especially the stuff at Macau Guia every November. But I gave up ever since WTCC started.

I've had both cars. Mx5 with a hard top was always a made track monster, but the r32 gtr for an all rounder is a monster. Mine was a 1.8 turbo too, but that was 18 years ago. 180rwkw in one of those things is insane. Miss it so much. The driver of the mx5 showed how much potential is really in those cars good on him, very well done. Great to see the advan r32 still chopping laps even after a decade on from Mark Berry's days.

I love it when small, nimble cars do this to more powerful beasts. Although that R32 sound is otherworldly good

This video really shows the skill necessary and how close all the great drivers are.
  • You're an insightful legend mate, and your tale reminds me of a bloke 'who saw' - over 15 years ago and featured in Zoom' magazine - Buy Used MX5, rebuild BP motor for strength, strap on the very newest Garrett GT25 turbo at the time, add Ohlins coilovers and AP racing brakes - have everything corner weighted. Destroy everyone on the track.

Being on the track and pairing off like that is so much fun, well not immediately on the track, but in the pits and watching the video...all smiles!
  • @MickPsyphon
Great pass! Not only did he hold the position after diving into the inside of that corner, but he gave it just as much effort to keep it together going around the outside of the next corner! That takes balls! I'll bet the other driver's ass puckered up when he saw the Mazda alongside him. I don't know who the driver of the Mazda is, but he's got a little bit of Gilles Villeneuve in him. That entire race looks like it would be fun to watch.
  • Totally makes sense to me MIata's are known for their handling and in the right hands if you can keep a powerhouse in your sights you always have a chance. Good Running by both drivers.
  • The Miata on turns it's a monster it's basically on its natural habitat
  • @martintuara8989
Awsome to watch, great driving by both....the best dance I've seen in this class 👏
  • @madmax2069
That's one serious track weapon, well done, and great driving as well.
