Bangladesh is a land of troubles: the water here is black, the traffic is insane, the people are poor, and the metro only goes one way; children don’t go to school, because they have to help their parents earn a living, and men sell their girlfriends to brothels. Bangladesh is also a place where ships from all over the world end their “life”, and where manual labor is so cheap that it is getting scary.

With all the problems of Bangladesh, will I be able to see anything good in this small country in South Asia? Let’s find out!

I sent this video to my Bangladeshi friends and family. Most are in denial that there's any problem. If you don't acknowledge you have a problem you cannot change.

I am Bangladeshi and I’m glad you’ve shown the negative aspects of our country. These days many YouTubers come here and make “oh BD is so cultural, pretty…” type of videos just for clicks from this huge population. Ya we have good sides too but the bad outweigh everything. And we need to be more concerned and active to solve all our own problems.
  • My husband spent a month in Bangladesh, Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, St Martin's island etc..., he came home with pneumonia, probably from the pollution and had to be hospitalised for several days. He said that the motorbikes use two stroke petrol which spews out into the roads where your car or bus is also spewing out and this is breathed in. He travelled all over and met some lovely people he was looked after very well and liked the villages with their pools of water for fish and sunken boats. The other stories he told made me cry. Problem is when these people and similar from Pakistan etc come to the uk they bring with them these atrocious base standards, spitting in the streets, no care for parking cars, throwing rubbish everywhere, corruption and lies etc etc etc they need educating to raise standards in these respects. Neverthless they are essentially kind and helpful.

If I had to live in that constant chaos and filth, I think I would lose my mind. I cant even begin to imagine wanting to bring a child into all of that.

I'm very impressed by the number of Bangladeshi people in these comments that are complimenting the author of the video for portraying their country with such raw honesty. It takes a real love of your country to be open and honest about its problems and want to try to solve them, instead of being defensive and blaming the filmmaker for having the audacity to show the truth.
  • @Musfiq77
literally it's a hell, and here we are suffering, most of people like me can not escape from this hell
  • As a Bangladeshi, I am so much grateful to you. Everybody should watch this video. What you have shown is the real picture. It's a hell. Another major problem you didnt mention. Food adulteration. Everything is toxic here.
  • It’s a shame that some good hard working people are trapped in such an awful place without the possibility to leave and live a better lifestyle. I feel sorry for them

I'm a Bangladeshi 🇧🇩 and this is the most honest beautiful documentary of the country I've seen so far. Apart from "oh no how kind and amazing culture they have" we also got severe air pollutation, our rivers are dead, our children cannot go outside in cities. Even walking freely for an evening is a luxury here. We've got severe lack of basic necessities like clean water, non toxic foods, housing and basic education. People suffer here. And they figure out different means to deal with it. Often by integrating all these problems as a characteristic of the nation and not realizing they can and should actually be solved for ourselves and the future generations.
  • @SiamShahriar
Got a sub mate ! Thanks for sharing the true image of our country. As you know there are too many over confident Bangladeshis who thinks this country is the best in the world, this is a perfect critic content to the face of them.
  • @andybhoy3131
The government needs to put money into the country instead of their own pockets that's the problem in countries like this their governments are so corrupt and don't care about their people
  • @kellyjordan6440
The capital city Dhaka is probably the worst city in the world I have ever visited. It's basically a functioning garbage dump.. But the people I met were some the kindest, caring people I've ever experienced in 3 decades of travelling!
  • @nasimahmed9489
As a Bangladeshi,my heartfelt gratitude to you for upholding the bonafide potray of our country..
  • @asifadnan7052
Hi Ilya! I am Bangladeshi in origin living in Germany. You have shown the courage to tell things as they are in Bangladesh. So far I have seen only to have done this. I would like to thank you for bringing such shortcomings in front of everyone. I hope that people in Bangladesh will start noticing them and take measures to eradicate them. Please keep up the good work. Best wishes!
  • Bangladeshi 🇧🇩 here. Thanks for portraying my country with such raw honesty. We are all suffering here.
  • This youtuber has captured the real picture of Bangladesh. And directly explained the difference of Bangladesh with the outside world. He has shown the corruption in all areas of our country. He has pointed out the lack of planning and management of roads and ghats. And how stupid we are as a nation. , uncivilized means that. He did not resort to lies to increase the views and reach of the channel like many other YouTubers.
  • @LR-vy5yy
He's right about the car horns what's the freaking point! It's not improving the situation. People are attacking this man, but he actually makes some good observations.
  • This is a really sad situation, but I think it's not all government fault. Discipline must start also with the people. If they want their country to be in progress they must work together.
  • The girls in the brothel are heartbreaking! No one should have to endure this 😢
