i ran into this problem recently. what i ended up doing was creating a template where the main channels in the drum rack gets routed to individual audio channels. that way i can keep all the midi together in the drum machine clips but can easily adjust plugins on each audio channel. it's a pain to set up but as it's my default template, it's very easy to work with now.

Good tutorial and recommendations. I think it might by worth it to just buy and use long term as well
