The Gospel of Thomas (also known as the Coptic Gospel of Thomas) is a non-canonical sayings gospel. It was discovered near Nag Hammadi, Egypt, in December 1945 among a group of books known as the Nag Hammadi library. Scholars speculate that the works were buried in response to a letter from Bishop Athanasius declaring a strict canon of Christian scripture. Scholars have proposed dates of composition as early as AD 60 and as late as AD 140.
The Coptic-language text, the second of seven contained in what modern-day scholars have designated as Codex II, is composed of 114 sayings attributed to Jesus. In the Gnostic Christian tradition, Christ is seen as a divine being which has taken human form in order to lead humanity back to the Light. The usual meaning of gnostikos in Classical Greek texts is "learned" or "intellectual".

Dear Listeners, this recording has some copyrighted music in the video so YT plays ads to collect revenue for the record company. Sorry about that. There are many ways to overcome this. You can pay for a YouTube Premium subscription and have no ads appear on any videos. Or, on your end, you can simply install an adblocker on your device (search Google for them - many are free); change your browser to "Brave browser" - it blocks all ads on all sites. The other easy option is to listen to my recordings (and download if you wish) either on my Google Drive or the many Podcast platforms where there are no ads. You can find links to all of these in the top right-hand corner from my Home page on my You Tube channel. Hope you can find some good options. The ads will only appear on those readings where the music is copyrighted and I am trying to avoid this now as much as possible these days. Warm regards

Years ago I went into a Vedanta temple in the mountains. I didn't know what Vedanta was at the time but when I entered this small beautiful church I almost fell down for along the walls and alcoves were figurines of all the worlds Holy Teachers - Buddha, Christ, Mother Mary, Ramakrishna, and so many other Holy, Divine Beings. It was the first time I felt safe and invited to love and cherish them all equally. It truly felt like a homecoming. Your productions Jayasara do the same. You pull from all traditions and faiths without hesitation, inviting us all to this banquet of Everything. To be nourished from this well is Grace and I Am truly grateful to you, our Spiritual Guides, and the Sangha for what is here is more than words can ever convery. <3

I have absolutely nevwr been able to connect to modern Christian teachings. Every single gnostic text i read from jesus swells my heart, and it always makes immediate sense to me. Beautiful.

This is beautiful, and the first time I have meditated to the Gospel. The more I search for peace, meaning and wisdom the more convinced I become that wisdom lies in flexibility, rather than correctness. The deeper I listen to all the teachings of the mystics the more it seems to me that they invite us all to drink from the same cup.
