Mackinac Island is a charming place with horse-drawn carriages waiting to whisk you away through streets that feel untouched by time. Around each corner, you will smell the sweet temptation of fudge that lofts from many of the store windows and indulge in great food and fantastic shopping. Plus, grab a bike and head out on a 8 mile ride around the island. We really fell in love with Mackinac Island and had the perfect day exploring this special place. Let us know what we left off in the comments!

I eagerly await each of your episodes..where will Josh and Paps take me this time and…you will show me a beautiful corner of the US through your lenses. Thank you for the great work. I love you, you are a great family.
  • You’re such a happy person. Makes watching the video very enjoyable 😊
  • Every since I watched Somewhere In Time back to the 80s, I wanted to go to this Island. I had no idea there was so much to do there! We are definitely gonna make it there, thanks Josh!!!!
  • Please thumb up 👍 Those who loves their dads. Lots of love ❤
  • So many memories in this video of our trip there 10 years ago. Time to go back again. But for now, I'm in the mood to watch "Somewhere in Time". Thanks so much for sharing your adventure. I'm so glad you found it an enjoyable way to spend a day!
  • Fun Fact: The Mackinac State Park portion of the Island used to be a National Park! In fact, Mackinac National Park was the second oldest National Park, with the first being Yellowstone! It was a National Park from 1875 to 1895, and covered 821 acres of the Island with 103 acres belonging to the Fort and the rest was privately owned.

Been waiting for you to come see my state. Living in Michigan my entire life I know what a gem this is. A little classy unique tourist trap
  • A dive into the past from today's perspective with 2 great hosts. Sharing glimpses of landscapes, scenery & everything for sweet teeth. To me, real fudge is the traditional one, which does not compare to any other., no matter fancy they might be 🤩. Lucky you that do not have to leave your country to experience diversity in every, shape or form. Thank you for the travel!
  • What a great episode! Thanks for visiting our beautiful state! Next time you’re in Michigan stop in traverse city! ❤
  • Smiles and good vibes! Really enjoyed watching this as a Michigander.

A day trip to Mackinac Island is so much fun. If you ever get the chance, stay a couple of nights. Completely different vibe in the evening and morning. The Pink Pony (the outdoor bar is below the restaurant) in the evening is the place to be. The rum runners be flowing! Many hotel options with various price points. I like Mission Point. I do a solo seven mile hike when my wife and I visit. I start by hiking up the bluff near Mission Point, then head to arch rock. From there, go to skull cave. Then past the Cemeteries and on to Fort Holmes. Fort Holmes is at the highest point on the island and requires walking up another bluff (more stairs). There is no cost to tour the Fort. Most people don't know it's there. From there, I hike past Fort Mackinac and the small airport. The other side of the island has a few more geologic formations (a shallow cave and "crack in the island"). Then on to British Landing. The hike continues back through town and onto Mission Point (or whatever hotel you're staying at). Thank you so much for this video and all the others you do. I love watching your content.
  • I've been enjoying your travels for the past 2 years and I am so excited that you are in my home state!!! I can't help smiling throughout the entire video!! I am so glad you enjoyed your time in our little gem, Mackinac Island!!!
  • U.P. and N.S. and BWCA so much to explore. Enjoying watching you and dad
  • @jewelspapa
Great video. We were there June 2023. We stayed one night at Mission Point. The tour is a must do as well as sampling the fudge. Thanks for sharing.
  • There you go! I wait in anticipation of you and Pops adventures. Especially today, Tampa is under a tropical storm watch.

Cool island! Love the carriages and horses. Now I want some fudge!!
  • I am so glad that I chose today of all days (the day you posted this) to look for some Michigan videos. Living away from home in another state makes me miss Michigan so much and it makes me so happy to see you two enjoy yourselves in a beautiful place I miss so much and that means so much to me. Thank you!! Beautiful video.

Love Mackinac Island. One of my favorite places. You did a good job finding the best places to go on a day's visit. Those were not mosquitoes but mayflies. I have been to Mackinaw City when they were really bad.
  • What a beautiful island. I feel rejuvenated just by watching the video!
