I know now! The black golem is only in the darkness right? And he saw the flashing. Maybe that the cross moon is the warning of the black golem, and maybe that the black golem will appear when the moon is shaped like a cross or there's no moon at all...

I have a hypothesis. The Black golem only exists together with the cross moon. The moon makes flashes of white light while the Black golem hides in the darkness. That means the cross moon was created to control/stop/neutralise/weaken the Black golems effects on the player and the player getting flashes is a con of the process

So, the Black Golem was definitely real and it seemed like the flashes happened before something happened and after it happened when everything went back to normal. And the way the Cross Moon shook at the end, it makes me feel like the seed was either somehow hacked, glitched, or had a virus put in it.
