Skyway is not part of Seattle. It is unincorporated King County. This means, no local government, and therefore, no local police. They have to rely on the County for everything. There are very few businesses in Skyway. There is only one grocery store- and it’s a Grocery Outlet. This means there are also few jobs, and thus high rates of poverty. It has a large, highly concentrated population, and therefore, the poverty is also concentrated. This is the most underserved zip code in King County.
