Once the tapping started, it showed the evolution of 2005 metalcore to modern metal.

You have some of the most impressive rhythm with your picking hand I've ever seen.

The metronome is my favorite part of any modern metal song.

A lot of new/intermediate players don't realize this is how to write cool riffs. They think it'll just happen all at once. The ideas just come out awesome right off the bat. That happens occasionally but I write almost everything this way. I'm usually just noodling around while watching TV and something cool will pop out then I basically dissect what I'm doing and embellish it or build it into something else. I think of it like building a house. First you need a foundation, then your structure, now take that structure and decorate it however you like. Sometimes I grab the acoustic to write metal riffs to kind of force myself to start simpler. Plus, if it sounds good on acoustic, it's definitely gonna sound good on electric. AND since an acoustic doesn't sound metal, when you make the switch to electric, hopefully it'll have a unique sound or style that I wouldn't have come up with playing a distorted electric. That's one of the goals anyway

Yoooooo, this was soooo siiiiick \m/ I love how you added layers to this riff every 4 bars. The chords, the rhythm, the melody, the metronome, I love it all! Also, just found you today. This video convinced me to sub.
