Hasbro Will NEVER Make These Marvel Legends

Published 2024-04-10
Today we're going to try to guess some of the figures that we think Hasbro will never make in the Marvel Legends line for one reason or another. If we're wrong let us know in the comments.

New mutants would sell. It just needs to be their classic uniform. My prediction we will have a full new mutant team show up in x-men 97, which will lead to the classic uniform figures. Or maybe it’s wishful thinking

Thankfully NECA just made a Jack Kirby figure, so that will work for my ML display and collection overall.

Mandarin's very first appearance is out of the question, but a redux of the robed Toybiz version might be doable.
  • Sad we won't get those figures ever. I think we won't get these either; Sons of the Serpent, Circus of Crime, Yellow Claw. The Mezco Conan is nice a bit small. I got my first Yamaguchi Thor, and it's fantastic.

A ML "Marvel Godzilla" would most likely also not see the light of day.

For licensing reasons, I don't think we'll ever see a Cardiac figure in ML form. Instant cop if they did.
  • My top 5 wants but probably a long shot includes 1 Warlord Krang - classic Namor villain 2 Kurse - comic book style 3 Michael Korvac - deluxe figure 4 Brother's Grimm two pack 5 The Owl - classic DD villain. 🍻🤞

The first character I always go-to for the “Never happening” list is always Hate-Monger, which makes sense considering he’s literally a clone of Adolf Hitler wearing a purple Klan outfit. lol Green skin cartoon Mandarin is the safest bet for a new figure at this point because otherwise the only comic version we may ever get is a modern business suit version. Classic racist caricature version is dead and buried permanently by Marvel.

18:07 frankencastle could be a fan channel exclusive line figure, they are a more limited run line you usually only find at GameStop and online retailers

As soon as I saw the title for this video I thought of the 90s Invisible Woman in the stripper costume and you guys did not disappoint.

There's so many marvel Legends to choose from which characters and they were some good ones but a lot more coming can't wait to see

Thanks for the video guys - a real engaging topic. As we know ML has a "list", yet the million dollar question is what characters are on it. I could spend space on your comments page describing the importance of Jack Kirby. He is called the King for a reason. ML would never get the license from the Kirby Estate to produce one. For others I feel that are on the list are; Mephisto, Lady Death, Mandarin, the Wizard, Mangog, Diablo, the Warriors Three, Balder, Bi-Beast, Harpy etc. There has been just too many years of opportunity for ML to produce either - they haven't - thus concluded they are on this list.

I want an Agents of Atlas box set so bad. Wanna go halfsies on a limited run of 5,000, Jordan? 😛

Stan Lee has separate licensing rights from the rest of the Marvel characters. Same with Kirby though not nearly as prolific as "Stan the Man". NECA is releasing a "Kirby" figure in their TMNT line, from a comic appearance I believe. They got the family's blessing even though the character is an homage and not actually Jack. Anything that they no longer have the license to, shared with another publisher (Amalgam) or don't outright own won't likely be made. The rest I think is on the table though some might be improbably. They're going towards more Fan Channel so some of your more risque figures might be more likely than you think.

As far as Marvel Monsters, I do believe we will eventually get a Werewolf by Night. Has to be one of the top characters we have yet to get in the Hasbro era. Toy Biz did a Monsters box set, with Dracula, Zombie, Frankenstein, and Werewolf by Night, which is pretty nice. The rest of them seem unlikely, but Werewolf by Night seems like a must. He had his own Disney + special!

I'm an X-men fan so i would love more New Mutants figures. Hasbro made Giant Sized X-men Storm so they already proved that they are willing to make swimsuit females. Tigra in the two piece and White Queen in the corset. They even made movie Mystique for crying out loud.
  • Not including characters that are wrapped up in legal rights issues, I'm personally in the camp that thinks no figure should be off limits. Whatever modern sensibilities we have, it's dumb that it prevents us from getting characters that existed at a point in history. For however many people would be offended at these characters getting made, there would be 10x that number of people that are fans of that character that would want to own a figure of them. Some characters I think Hasbro considers to be off-limits are classic Frank Castle Punisher and M'Baku, and I think there are certain versions of characters that they'll never touch again, such as Gamora, Black Cat, Titania, Shanna, or Mandarin. As lame as I think it is, I don't see us ever getting the chance at these ever again. So gotta pay out the wazoo for the old, garbage figures or make a custom.
