WHAT IS "FOR THE PIT"?
In this detective horror game, you must go into the woods and track down missing people while evading horrific monsters. Bring the missing person back to base so that you may FEED THE PIT.

  • I think a “buy back” mechanic needs to be added incase you accidentally sell a clue and then realize you needed it later. Seriously though I love these devlogs keep it up guys and when can we get a full setup tour from Preston?

    It would be cool if "The Rival" was a actual enemy, occasionally appearing and acting like a timer of sorts, where if you dont get the target in time they do instead

    a thought for the tattoo if you're concerned that the ping system makes it too easy then instead you could use right click to cause footprints and handprints in a certain radius to glow to give a subtle nudge in the right direction rather than outright pinging them

    I don't know what you guys have planned for the monsters, but I think it'd be cool if they were minions of Elijah. Like, the reason the cult is so obsessed with feeding the pit is because neglecting to feed it results in all these monsters appearing and start killing indiscriminately. Could be a fun twist of fate if getting caught by the monsters means getting fed to the very same pit you've spent the whole game feeding

    As someone else already pointed out, there definitely need to be "fake" roadkill enemies so you will be surprised when the real one attacks Also loving the shop! I think it could provide a good opportunity to convey some lore. Maybe some changing graffiti on the building, maybe the shop keeper slips you a note under very specific conditions
  • weird suggestion but if you wanted some extra atmosphere to make it feel more alive you could add volumetric fog with noise to give kind of windy effect, lethal company uses it alot and even though its a very small detail it adds so much

    I dont really know if its already there but you could add like object roadkill too (like not entity just immobile model of the alreday existing one, just so the player will be scared cuz he aint sure if its the living roadkill or not) but idk maybe its a bad idea Also your game seems really cool

  • the rip arms guy should say "you hair is so beautiful.... what the price?", the giant spider look strange i think that if you scale down the body to a car size and keep the legs the same its design wold be better,and monster idea: a small creature that steal the clues and use it like a shell and to get then back the player must chase it and knock them down
  • maybe there could be people who are hostile so you have to be sneaky or a monster that is disguised as a human and when it gets close it will change into a monster. Idk just some ideas, love how the game is going!
  • lore idea: the secret society working for Elijah didn't always worship him, instead, they started as a misfit group of farmers who hated what they were doing, but would continue the sacrifices to prevent bad stuff from happening. Over the years, as Elijah kept being fed by his lackeys, the secret society eventually came to worship him as he gave rewards for keeping the sacrifices on time and punishments for the late ones. Just a thought
