I subscribe to the idea that Sargaras was aiming for a secret titan facility with his sword but missed. At the end of legion he was taking his time searching for something; if it were obvious where his target is he would've taken action soon after arriving on azeroth. When we found him he wasn't done figuring out the exact location so while being whisked away he stabbed the area of his best guess as a desperate last ditch. It probably didn't help that the sundering shifted the landscape.

In the Chromie-Quest when we go back to the Black Empire, N'zoth basically told us the premise of the War Within: "You will follow him to the deep places. The dark waters will flow in his wake." and "With many eyes they will see again. They will drink and be uplifted." - An expansion underground and Nerubians. What is interesting for me is that he (yet again) had quite precise whispers about events after his death. Which means, he could have easily prevented it. And he did not even know about the Harbinger, he included her in his plans. I would not be surprised to find a certain dagger whispering to me about how I definitely should have killed Sylvanas when I had the chance, is all I'm saying, really.

The main gripe I have is they constantly give vague descriptions of these "unimaginable horrors" that the Void lords will inflict without ever really revealing anything, to the point where their supposed threat have no weight behind them. What exactly did Sargaeras see that made him so afraid? What did Murozond see? These never get addressed and are left unanswered for decades.
-
Another thing to note is how Void Elves also seem to be more connected to the Cosmic Void than the traditional Void we all know and love. Just look at their Heritage Armor.

Im betting Xal'ataths plan is to use the collected essences of the Old Gods plus the power of the Sunwell so Dimensius can manifest onto Azeroth. Middle management couldnt get the job done? Time to bring the boss in.
-
Minor correction: The Old gods would never see eye to eye with anyone. They’d see eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to eye to….. Wait I lost count….

i haven't played retail in the longest time, its always nice getting caught back up to speed on lore watching your videos. it might be an okay time to come back for WoWs 20th :)

Study the blood. It holds the answer you seek.

I can't seem to find the quote right now, but somebody a while back (I think Brann or simply a narrator of a book talking about the Explorer's League) said something about not knowing what kind of evil the sword of Sargeras had disturbed deep below Silithus. Essentially, I think the sword might've hit something deep below, and Xal'atath might be gathering its blood.
-
if the horrors are unimaginable I don't think the WoW designers have it in them to imagine them.
-
I really want to know how the hell did someone think to bring some flavor transmog to a random orc in silithus. 🤣

Thanks for the sponsorship portion of the video. Actually got it and learning new code for work.

bro i have pyromancer with his theories coming back, now belluar is bringing them out now! ooooo this is gonna be a great year

"500,000 Years ago" what? The oldest known relic we have of the Black Empire is carbon dated to 150,000 years old - nothing we know of is 500,000 years old. I was hoping you were going to expand upon that seemingly arbitrary number in the thumbnail, lol
-
Doesn't it track that Sargeras was just trying to kill Azeroth outright? I mean, Occum's Razor - If he kills Azeroth, then the Void Lords lose their campaign to infest a powerful Titan. And this is precisely his MO - extinguishing all life so that the Void cannot get a foothold.
-
The Titans wanting to eradicate all life makes sense in the context of reversing the curse of flesh
-
talking about "the goat" in the beginning, reminded me of some of the wispers from the toy "puzzle box of Yogg Saron" - that I never truly understood what they were hinting at, only maybe a bit into the direction of N'Zoth/Cthulhu...
-
A video talking about the War Within? On my birthday? Yes please!

This sounds exciting. Let’s hope the execute and story tell it well despite the layoffs.
