There're a lot of new vehicles added in Snowrunner some of which are just better versions of older trucks making them obsolete or less useful alternative. In this video I'll show you 10 such trucks.

Not gonna lie, kinda hurts seeing P16 be borderline obsolete. Twas the first heavy truck I found that FELT like a proper heavy truck that could just eat up mud (and fuel) and keep on going with a heavy trailer. Sure it can ONLY take trailers and has no real addons to speak of, but the fact that it could still tow other trucks through mud like that one special trailer mission in Alaska on the first map with the long stretch of super mud, just keeps a special place in my heart.

The fact that I still routinely use all of these trucks except the Fleetstar (I also don't have the Renegade) shows that these evaluations largely depend on how people approach SnowRunner and what kind of playstyle they have. At this point in the game one can basically do everything with the two big ZikZs, the Kenworth 963, and use only the Tatarin and Yar 87 as scouts. And die of boredom in the process. ;-) But I always appreciate your videos and point of view, because they're always thought-provoking. Keep up the good work! //Rick

You can say the P16 is obsolete but sometimes a really big truck is all you need to have fun. Love how it looks and its "I can pull it" aura

I use the M916 all the time. Because of it's short wheelbase, it is a great truck to tow behind. So I use it like a self-propelled trailer.

P12's obselesence is why I have no qualms using the P12 ORCA II mod. Sure, if you max it out it is basically OP but if you configure it well, it's just a vanilla P12 with some realistic upgrades to bring it even with other trucks in game. In my opinion, this is the best part of modding - experimenting to find mods that fit well in the game without being OP

I still use the fleetstar and have throughout the base game and all 10 phases. Imo the truck is still decent
  • Sometimes it is about the voyage and not the destination. With the released map DLCs of the Year 3-Pass I've found myself using all of the western-type trucks and scouts and having fun with them. These maps contain large areas where you can still use vehicles without superior abilities. So I can't agree with you on the "obsolete" part. Just hours ago I've used the ANK 38 with trailer to transport some supplies and metal beams to an oil pump building and the small amount of fuel carried in its tank made the trip even more interesting to me.

The freightliner at #6 is actually quite good, youre just using it wrong. Put chained tires on it, and use it as a high saddle truck. It has some of the highest torque in the game, and it's short wheelbase is good for maneuverability with the longer trailers. I see people use long wheel base trucks with long trailers, and they get stuck on turns all the time. Everyone gets that wrong, it's hilarious to watch.
  • The Pacific P 12 was my favorite truck. I think it just needs bigger mud tires and a three slot flatbed
  • @dozerfarms
My biggest issue with the P12 was that it felt very underpowered. I ran non-dual construction tires on it and even in low the truck would just freeze up in amything above moderate mud. It didn't offer enough power to keep going, and I often found myself winching it out of relatively easy conditions. The P16, on the other hand, was a great truck. Sure it was only RWD, but it had full time Diff Lock and pulled like a locomotive. The problem with that, however, is the lack of options (if I remember correctly, there are no chained or studded tires for winter regions, and it can only be used as a tractor), and the horrendous turning radius. Because Diff lock is always on (meaning both the left and right wheels turn at the same speed) and not having power to the front wheels to help redirect the nose of the truck, even road bends were like 11-point turns. Eventually, it just got to the point where I gave up and mained the Kodiak for cargo, the GMC MH9500 for low-saddle trailers or large (and somewhat accessible) orders (as I paired it with a 5-slot sideboard trailer and minicrane), and the 745C for logs. I still have the P16 and use it for longer logs, I just have to perform winch-assisted turns and try my best to stay near winch points. All of this because I'm too stubborn to use anything else 😅
  • 2:46 I find that the frieghtliner is best used as vehicle transport. It has excellent pulling power, and having the tapered heavy transport trailer hitch helps with maneuverability. 4:48 I still use the P12 as a medium log hauler simply because I have no dlcs. It still works pretty well as long as you aren't climbing a mountain, and its still awesome to drive lol 7:04 The P16 may have been outted by the boar and kenworth, but it still holds a place in my and many others hearts as the truck with the best horn
  • @TopiasSalakka
I still like the P16, i use it for almost all tasks where you need a high saddle, or transport long logs.
  • @phritza
I enjoy using the CK 1500 because it feels nostalgic now to scout around in.

Thanks for your videos, they are really fun to watch, keep it up! I wish the text went through some automatic grammar / spelling-checking software like grammarly or even deepl. A couple of unfortunate typos do not match the otherwise superbly executed video (footage, editing and the rest)! Cheers!
  • The Fleetstar kind of sucks until you put good offroad tires on it- then it's actually kind of good. I mean it's not going to plow through mud and never get stuck, but as long as you drive sensibly, it can tackle most situations. It's meant to be your most capable truck at the start of the game, and it does that job very well.
  • @QuebecGamer20
In defense of the P12, it's a good Truck with a still decent addon selection for a heavy class, it comes with the base game, and is unlocked at a reasonably low level. I bought mine when I was starting out and still use it regularly
  • @sueaga
0:36 fun fact the letters "ЖУК" on the license plate stands for "Beetle" or "Bug" and letter Ж with other Russian letters that do not have similar outlines in the Latin alphabet are not used in Russian license plates (except for diplomatic ones)
  • @ryanhall591
Man You using the Navistar as reference for gameplay after this long really shows how awesome of a truck it is, its probably in my top 10 if im honest.
  • @DakarRaider
Agree on these! Turning to mods makes some of these better, thought....the modded Hulkster Fleetstar is pretty solid, if not a bit "tippy", and the Pacific Orca mod is probably my go-to truck now.
