Great video! It's easy to forget that if there is only 1 winner, there are 7 losers who also gave their absolute best..
  • @datdudeinred
Ian not only getting emotional for himself but also for vidit & fabi is just insane to witness especially in chess.
  • @Shivam-sx4bx
The best moment is when crowd applaud for fabi and nepo

Ian's "I'm - I'm very sorry" always gets me because it really feels genuine. He would never let another player win on purpose but he knew how close Fabi was to winning yet failed to convert under time pressure. At the same time Ian was probably devastaded himself, leading the tournement just to give it all away in the last few rounds.

I always supported Gukesh and hope he wins the WCC. But RESPECT for every players shown in the video, including NIJAT ABASOV who also gave his best...❤❤❤

Hikaru and Nepo fell short by agonizingly small margins, but Caruana at some point was there, in the playoff with Gukesh, and then fell off the boat that he had already captured

Hikaru realising its close to the end of his era, after all this time. the young folks like Gukesh will only get better. he didn’t manage to beat them now, it will be even more difficult in the future. Gukesh is only 17 yesrs old after all.

Hikaru says he doesnt care, last time he cried was a few days ago. Magnus says he cares, last time he cried was 10 years ago. OK....
  • there is always one winner but those who are left behind are also warriors, its not just about chess.
  • @rs45888
Great video.... brought me to tears.
  • @PEACE_LUVR
Hikaru is crying without tears and in his head he knows that he is in pain…yes, he makes more money through YouTube videos and he may call it as real job or so….. But, he absolutely wanted to win that tournament. So, he is in pain….Sorry Hikaru. Gukesh on that tournament was absolute monster 👍…
  • This is the most competitive age of chess, any of these players would be world chess champions in any other time period. Most of them (the older players) will be replaced by a newer generation in 5-10 years which is heart wrenching.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad seeing fabi ang hikaru just breaked my heart and Ian man , that day was too god damn tough , even my country person won , but still , i was not happy at all . Chess is definitely brutual ....
  • @Journeyman4Love
Can somebody kindly subtitle what Hikaru said at the end there? I could only comprehend some of it. Was a worthy reflection.. stuff that remains unsaid usually.
  • @sas_za6305
This sport/art/science is brutal. These guys are so unbelievably good. They are all heroes of the game. We salute you.
