👋 Background info on myself: I am a prior Marine infantryman, current Army infantryman. I've been through specialized Close Quarter Battle training, security guard training, subterranean warfare course, urban surveillance training, foreign weapons training, helicopter insert/extract master, as well as numerous training with other militaries and their technologies.

I just wanted to say that my uncle was a queen's guard 💂♂️ he recently lost his life to cancer, but my god the respect he earned by doing this job is unbelievable 🥰 so sad that covid stopped him from having his full royal army funeral ... it was an incredibly difficult job and he had to work so so hard to get to this post ... such a proud niece over here! 😭 😇

They do get issued live ammunition, especially when the Queen is residence in Buckingham Palace, although she is living at Windsor Castle currently.

I went to Arlington cemetery and watched the ceremony - I cried - Im English but was moved by how much respect is given there - I will never forget it.

I belive the queen's guard are issued live ammunition. They aren't just for show, they are there to guard the Palace and the Queen!

I'm ex British Army and I can tell you that they do have live ammunition every time you are on guard whether its the queens guard or just at your barracks. Hope that clears it up for you.

Nice reaction - my father was a Sergeant in the Coldstream Guards from 1943 to 1946 fighting the Nazis in Italy.
