This LUMIX Camera Shoots Nice Colors

I found a Panasonic Lumix GF2 at about USD10 only! I thought, it was a no brainer, and the camera was still in great working condition. I brought the camera out for some shutter therapy, and the color rendering of the GF2 surprised me, for the first time, I do love Panasonic colors. I know some will say "but we can't find this for 10 dollars elsewhere", now, that is just the buyer's luck, which happens like once in a purple moon.

Robin, no matter which camera you use, your photos are always great. Here you can see that the camera you use has hardly any influence.

I agree - your photos are always lovely no matter what you use. It shows skill outweighs gear every time!

About two years ago I paid $60 for a mint GF2 with a 20/1.7 attached to it, and this was in California. Being an Olympus guy, and not liking Lumix jpegs, I never tried the body… until today after watching your video, Robin. Well, I have to admit it: the rendering of raw files is incredible, even by 2024 standards. I’m truly impressed. I have not tried the jpegs, and the menus are not my favorite, but I’m blown away by the raw files. Thanks Robin!

GF2 was my first camera and I have bought and sold so many since then but kept my OG GF2. Now I find myself shooting with it again for the nostalgia and realizing it wasn’t as limiting as I thought it was when I “upgraded” from the GF2 all those years ago.

WOW, blast from the past. The GF2 was my first ILC back in 2011. Used it all the way up to 2020.

Hi Robin, I bought a white GF2 for a friend earlier this year for $70 USD. It was in mint condition and came with the box, paperwork and accessories. I also gave her my silver Lumix 12-32mm pancake lens. It's a nice looking compact system which produces nice photos in good light. I do prefer Olympus colors and I also noticed the shutter was a little loud. I have shot it a few times and think it is a very good beginner's camera. Thanks for the video

I bought a like new GF3 for around 70 USD on MPB earlier this year. I was happy to pay that considering the digicams from the early 2000s were starting to fetch those prices, but their lenses are not removable. So for a digicam-sized M43 camera that I can change lenses with, it's a winner! No regrets

Thanks for these new set of images. Very impressive considering it is not “fun” like the S9 😉. I really like the image at 5:05, a very nice portrait indeed. Long life to MFT

One of my favourite 'retro' cameras, which I often pair with the Panasonic 20mm F1.7.
  • A great deal & what appears to be a great little shooter. Good vid, Robin. Whoa! Some great pics here too.

For those of you saying "but we cannot find such camera at such price at such locations' well, it all depends on luck, does it not? Sometimes you are lucky, you can find a Leica M6 in a garage sale for 100 dollars.

Amazing bargain! I still have a silver GF2. I remember the software CD came with Silkypix for editing RAWS. Great photos Robin, shows how the camera can still take good photos!
  • Older micro four thirds cameras are such a good bargain. It's unbelievable. I still enjoy using my trusty GF1! I should pickup an EP-1 for old times sake :D
  • @MikeRinz
I had a GF2 and GF1 and the latter was even louder. These cameras were so loud to the point I couldn't shoot street with them, as everyone around me would just turn their heads towards the sound. Both cameras were shutter shock hell! Loved the colors out of these early 12mp Panasonics though, and the Dynamic Monochrome picture profile was one of the best monochrome jpeg profiles I've ever seen.

A few cups of coffee? I think in some countries a single cup of coffee is costs already more than that, so impressive find! Wish I could find such deals.
  • @mohakhu
what a beautiful and great camera. thanks Robin ❤
  • @Streetsupra88
No way! I picked up one of these last year for $20. I'm still an olympus fan for M4/3, but for the price I couldn't resist it. Thanks for another get video Robin!
  • Wow this is my first interchangeable lens camera. I didn't know why people love the colors now. It was critisized a lot back then and always compared to olympus E-P1 & E-P2. I love this camera, and bring it often, even when I have GX85.
