This project began as an effort to record a cover version with an accompanying video of myself playing piano and singing.
At the same time, I was learning to navigate two apps that have always been unused on my phone - Garageband and iMovie.
In the final stages, I found myself unnerved by the way my voice fit (or more correctly "didn't fit") the song. Additionally, the pandemic induced lack of haircut, beard overgrowth and weight gain caused me to rethink my entire video approach. 🤔
Rather than abandon the whole thing, I took advantage of technology and learned how to isolate and extract the vocals from the original recording and used them on a track. The video began to evolve as well, transforming into a more "theme - based" approach.
I hope you enjoy the end result...I had a lot of fun learning and creating this.
