In this painting video, I’m diving into something I’ve been loving lately—working with raw canvas and acrylic washes. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know how much I adore the watercolor effect you get when mixing acrylics with lots of water on raw cotton canvas. It’s such a soothing process, and today, I felt inspired to create an abstract landscape painting rather than my usual botanical themes. I decided to go for a soft and harmonious color palette, focusing on gradients and blending. I’m experimenting with light violet, powder blue, and a few other shades that I think really complement each other.

I’m really happy with how this landscape painting turned out. The negative space parts, like the exposed areas on the top and bottom, give the piece a simple yet intriguing design. For me, this makes this landscape unique, different and interesting, even though it is very simplistic.
I hope you enjoy watching this process as much as I enjoyed creating it. Let me know what you think of the piece and if you’d like to see more of these abstract landscapes in the future. Thanks so much for watching, and I’ll see you next week!
