My office got some new BMPCC 4k's and let me take it home for the weekend to mess around with it before actual shoots. Took a drive to Red Rock Canyon and picked these shots up. Footage was denoised (barely any noise to clean btw) and grain was layered afterwards. Color graded using Premiere Pro.

Damn. The 1080 looks great. I was thinking of picking up a companion OG bmpcc (one of those cameras I've always wanted but never bought) but if the 1080 holds up this well, might just stick with the P4K.

Just what I needed to see, in terms of trying to decide what to shoot, ProRes vs. Raw. I have a 128GB CFast card so, I'm trying to get a lot of running time on the card, as well as quality. This might be the solution.

Love it, but please take care of the clouds, they were a bit blown. :) I would have loved to see this in 4k btw, as I have a 32" ultra-widescreen monitor, so when I go full screen, it fills up the whole monitor (unlike 16:9 footage).
  • What are your project resolution settings before rendering and how do you export with the correct resolution to get this view? Thanks

do a rec 709 render fo get true black and pop that color!

Hello :) I am very curious how the 1080p RAW looks like, may you please show us some footage? I think of shooting with it sometimes, due to the less file size.
  • Beautiful footage, I’ve been eyeing up the bmpcc4k for a few weeks now. I currently shoot with an a7SII and IQ on the black magic’s 4k is absolutely amazing. With all it’s features, the price point is above reasonable. May I ask, did you have the same issues others were pointing out with the bmpcc4k like the battery life, camera crashing while running an external hard drive, file size, not saving files etc.? Really interested in this model.
