The song is an emotional story..... The beginning is them saying goodbye, we miss you, we love you. The middle is a worry that they feel without their monster handler.. and the final verse shows them prevailing, realizing their victories, etc.... It brings me to tears tbh

Gold Island is actually based on "Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D". Gold Island was the sixth island added and is now almost 10 and a half years old. It's currently the song that's been the longest since its last update, being over 7 years (technically, now the island song that's been the longest since being updated is Tribal Island just edging it out by a couple months, however Tribal Island's song has never been updated since its release). Shugabush Island still holds the title of song with the longest span of time without being updated, being over 9 years, until Echoes of Eco this year which added Viveine.

The fact that a game about silly little monsters singing can make you so emotional shows that it's more than that. The journey you take only for the game to give you the best goodbye message anyone can ask for. I'm not saying this was ever planned to be the final island, but it certainly is a good bye, for now, a look back on everything you've done. Dave Kerr may have stopped composing for msm in 2018 but his legacy lives on, this song is truly beautiful and one of the best in msm history. Thanks for joining the MSM community Legacy and I can't wait for you to finish Dawn of Fire, it's just as good, if not better!

Although this song isn’t meant to be a goodbye song, it sure reminds me of one. I heard that there is 30 monsters in the island, excluding epics, and rares. This is sad to me because in elementary school, I had 30 classmates, including me. This is just quite the sad song. It reminds me of my classmates and even though some of them weren’t the best of friends, I hope they have a good life. This song is also sad for me, because my elementary school might’ve not been that well known, but everyone was so kind to me, including teachers which is just rare. I feel surrounded by nostalgia and filled with it whenever I remember my first day in kinder while I think of this song, the memories just hit differently. I didn’t understand English, as I was from a different place, far away from my elementary school. Thank you for seeing and reading my memories. The last day was so sad, all my friends, enemies, frenemies, all started crying and sharing their stories. My Singing Monsters, thank you so much for this glorious and amazing song called Gold Island. I will not leave this community until it ends. I am now in middle school, starting out and even though it may be a little nerve wrecking, I hope I can get through. May you have a great day.

My aunt passed away today and when I watched your video, it made me more happy and I just wanted you to know that you make me happy in the darkest times and that I hope you never half to go through with losing a close family member or friend hope you have a good life and always think positive.

Hi Legacy, I discovered you a day after my house had burned down and my first video was your first earth Island video. Your amazing vibe and energy helped me throughout the tragic event. So sad to see the series so soon but then again, it was a great journey. Thank you Legacy.

there’s so many islands in this game i completely forgot how good this island was, especially how potbelly & fwog trade on their part & the chemistry w/ pompom & hoola is unmatched my gosh. also this was originally meant to be the last island this needed to go as hard as it did! pretty crowded tho i’ll say but thats expected

It is so interesting that gold island is one of the first islands to have an inspiration on a real life song which is an orchestral song called pachelbel-Canon in D major. It's most noticeable when quibble plays it's first track at the beginning of the song. Also another fact is that this music is one of Dave Kerr's favorite orchestral pieces.

Fun Fact that you might not know: This was supposed to be a thank you song that the natural elements/the 4 elements/the 3 elements/ the 2 elements/1 elements sang because its the last island in the Msm/My Singing Monsters game 😢

It does make me sad to see this series come to an end, ive been watching this since you started learning how to place monsters lol. It was a really fun experience and the memories are great

In my opinion the way I see it is the first section is meant be a happy ending and meant to be emotional ending the natural islands which is a very notable thing in msm then the second part with oaktopus is meant to be a reminder to not be sad but proud and the final part with quarrister is meant to signify a happy ending and the pride in completing such a feat. Overall very underrated Island and one of the best

Recently I've hit a new low, and you helped me stay away from the edge by supplying me with a distraction. Thanks legacy. I know you'll still make content, but this series was one of the best, and I hope you continue with DOF.

This game has really come a long way! its so nice seeing how much the game has improved through out the years and how far it has gone, and the fact that a game with goofy monsters making noises can make you so emotional and connected with them is literal bonkers. We all remember each monster here cause we all started out with them. Making gold island the final island as a goodbye is absolutely genius, all of them sound so soothing it feels good to hear. Who knew we could make such great memories with a little game? We've made alot of memories with this game and because of it, it feels sad and terrible to know this was the last island and you cant play anymore. Atleast we have the Composer Island which will stay forever. this game will always have a special place in our hearts
