This guy is the best "explainer" of boxing I've ever found. Crazy he's such a young dude. Love how he keeps it real about waiting til the end for ad revenue lol
  • Dude. You seriously are one of the best. You must be a really smart person in general to be able to so eloquently give easy to digest analogies. Get that youtube money 💰💪🏽

This was an almost perfect video. Your instruction is on point. We, in California call this style of punching, Floatining Punches. You should warn people that, if they are beginners, they need to understand that rhythm, timing, and distance play a huge role in this. If you throw these punches without these principles, it is very common to roll or break a wrist. The only thing I have to add is that you broke the kinetic chain when you didn't rotate your back knee on the hooks. Being a young man, you can get away with this for a few years, but by not rotating your rear ankle to align your knee with your elbow, you've actually broken the kinetic chain and will in the future have knee pain or injuries. This becomes more evident when you might have to deal with a kicker or grappler. Other than that, I have signed on with you and think your editors add-on at the end is brilliant. Keep it up new friend. Come visit us in San Diego, California.

This is definitely the best boxing knowledge channel on YouTube just like Tony Jeffries!
  • The most honest man at the start of a YouTube video about ad rev. Good man. How you explain this is brilliant. Keep the content up. I'll be subscribed and watching 💪

Phenomenal video! I teach this exactly how you do! It took me so many years of my old coaches telling me to loosen up and relax to finally understanding it. I realized how tight and stiff I was after someone finally recorded me. Breaking it down into small details like you do here is the key to helping fighters understand. Well done.

Great tutorial. Exactly why so many knockout punches don't look like they are thrown "hard."
  • @JamieSpear007
I love your in depth and precise coaching techniques. Many years of little bad habits soon to be erased thanks to you and your fantastic videos. I wish you all the best inside and out of the ring. Many thanks from this ol sport in New Zealand.

I would add that you need to have your fist locked in relation to the wrist If you squeeze the fist tightly it becomes like a rock at the end of the whip, and prevents what is happening in this video -- a limp wrist and crooked fist at the end of the kinetic chain. This weakens the punch and also risks breaking your hand. Clench that fist as you throw the punch for extra offense and injury prevention.

Once again you are excellent. Keep it coming. Your delivery of information, instruction, and comprehension is beyond excellent.
  • I love the emphasis on flow. Not just in this video but your every day practice (shadowboxing, sparring, bag work). Really helpful and excellent breakdowns.
  • Thats very interesting. Especially the cross part. It reminded me so much when I watched tons of baseball throw slow motions over and over. That whipping power
  • This is the best explanation ever. You are incredible coach 👏👏👏👏
  • Wow, your last point is honestly phenomenal it may seem like nothing to beginners or those that haven’t had any experience throwing punches but it does make a massive difference in generating power and flowing through different punches properly, unless I’m forgetting I don’t know of anyone off the top of my head on YouTube that has specifically pointed that out before if I’m honest but it is so important. Good video and def seem like any beginner boxer is in good hands watching this Chanel if all you’re videos are as well informative as this one.
  • @Alex56381
Awesome video mate, thanks for the very easy to comprehend explanations.

Another good analogy of a punch mechanics is a metal ball on a chain

These pointers are so good. Many thanks!
