This is Sakamoto's personal "baby" it was a project he himself wanted to do. Nintendo knows it won't sell well, but they want to let the director pursue the vision he's passionate about

Bro is mad that Nintendo let him down when it’s all his fault. 😂
  • @vinnieg007
People disappointed in this forgets that Nintendo is a Japanese company, and one of the highest selling genres there is visual novels.
  • This isnt what I expected but this is the FIRST new Famicom Detective Club entry in 30 years AND this is the first ever internally developed M rated game by Nintendo - THAT is a big deal!

Not 777. It's called 999 or Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors.
  • sakamoto chose to revive it for artistic reasons rather than business ones it was something he felt passionate about

Yoshio Sakamoto's work on Famicom Detective Club 1 & 2's story is the reason why the Metroid series has been story-driven since Super Metroid, which he also wrote. Without these games, the Metroid series would have taken a completely different direction.

RGT is like a kid tripping over his own toys and then blaming his parents. To be fair to nintendo, they showed basically one picture and RGT is like "is going to be A B and C and it's going to have X Y and Z and this is amazing because nintendo never does this". That's a lot to get from a single shot, not to mention that if you acknowledge nintendo never does this then you should probably hold off on assuming that's what they are doing.

30 years for a new title of this series is crazy, happy for those fans. Story sounds interesting though. Also you hyped yourself up for something you had no idea about, your disappointment is your own doing.

Nintendo fans when Nintendo releases anything not called Mario, Zelda, or anything else they have nostalgia for:
  • Dismissing an entire storytelling medium shame. Visual novels have some great storytelling and can be quiet scary. Ddlc, higurashi, umineko , ace attorney, professor layton, 999 ,danganronpa all have great stories.

Nintendo didn’t overhype this, the internet and YouTube did. I’m not excited for it but I wasn’t dumb enough to hype it up without knowing anything about it.
  • Honestly, all these content creators hyping this game up like it was the 2nd coming of PT... you got no one to blame but yourselves.
  • @paulaclark2101
It’s hilarious how he’s so pissed when he made up the hype in his head. No one promised some slasher, murder, game. He made that up and got angry over his own hype

Listen, I played the Famicon Detective Club remakes for the first time on Switch and loved them. This game is in a series that didn't get a new installment in 30 years, while it's also M rated and seems really beautifully crafted. I also think the way they presented this game got everyone talking about it, and got a much bigger audiance that way. So for me, the hype is still reak

Yeah I'm not surprised you are dissapointed, it's a visual novel, and I can tell from the kind of entertainment that you are into that you don't enjoy having to read :)
  • @Magic_Ice
It’s always “we want new games in dormant series” until Nintendo does it and people get disappointed.
  • This is what happens when you assume things and not wait to see what it actually is
  • @acupofpee503
it's funny how everyone just hyped themselves up for Nintendo's P.T. or something, lol. All we had was the short teaser and yet some people feel deceived. Chill out, man. It's cool that they're bringing this series back. Also VNs have a right to have interesting teasers, there's no problem in that. The problem is YOU. You made two almost 10 minute videos aboud a short teaser with no info, damn
