*FATHER'S DAY SPECIAL* Level Crossings in the Pembrey and Llanelli Area (Thursday 15.06.2023)

Published 2023-06-18
Here it is, the biggest video I've ever done on my channel! We have work being done in our garden, so my father decided to take a day off work and we drove up to West Wales to catch the Field & Grant (Staythorpe) barriered crossings before their upgrades, plus I got a souvenir from the signaller at Kidwelly! I then bumped into ‪@SionsTrainVideos‬ at Llanelli, who was a little shy around me, so I didn't put him in the video. We were going to film Penybedd AHB, but we got chased by horse flies and we had to scarper. But apart from getting sunburn and sweating my bollocks off all day, we saw a surprising sight at Llanelli Station West level crossing, when some divvy sod decided to jump the barriers! Anyway, I'll shut up now and let you enjoy the video. Happy Father's Day! (Copyright of Theo’s Trains Wales 2023. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED. Worked this crossing/box in the 1970s. The box is a fringe box, previously to Port Talbot panel but now to Canton SC, with block instruments to Kidwelly SB. Was a busy box back in the day, especially when the power station was operating with coal trains in and out and the BP&GV railway branch. There were 3 tracks across the crossing in those days.
  • Here’s a challenge for you, try to film every level crossing that has warning lights in Wales. I’ve done the research, there’s less than you think.
