The multi talented sports journalist and broadcaster, Taylor Rooks, joins the Pivot to talk all topics from working as a female in sports, to dealing with physical appearance being a career factor to overcoming questions about her personal life while trying to keep the headlines focused on her interviews, not who she’s dating.

Taylor shares her story and how she carved a niche for herself as one of the top females interviewers in sports media and how the climb in the industry is a struggle everyday.

Channing comes right out and addresses the rumors swirling the internet about her personal relationships which she says is frustrating but always false! “Just because I stand next to someone or have chemistry in an interview doesn’t mean I’m dating them,” Taylor responded.

Fred dives into the what they future holds for Taylor and if motherhood is something she is worries about affecting her career and Ryan talks about how the industry is changing and the respect Taylor has earned from the exclusive access to interviews she’s done.

Tackling each day, Taylor shared wisdom she took from Serena Williams about always striving to be be better from one day to the next.

The Pivot releases new episodes every Tuesday at Noon eastern with Special Pivot moments dropping on Fridays.

  • I like how she went back to revisit the conversation about clothing accentuating her body. She was able to have a teachable moment without coming off as combative or defensive. Shout out to Ryan Clark too. He drove the point home with the example of his daughter. Over all great interview. Love the Pivot and Taylor Rooks
  • Was not familiar with Taylor Rooks before this interview. Now I'm a new fan of a confident African American Woman who does not let her natural beauty overshine her class and intelligence. Bravo Pivot Team on another excellent guest and interview. SALUTE, Freddy, Channing, and Ryan!

Taylor Rooks is THE ONE. I hope that all of her aspirations for herself come into fruition. She's absolutely amazing at what she does and I'm modeling after her.
  • @markesgrant
OG Fred sat there for a full 15 minutes before saying a single word. Ultimate student.
  • @LouieTzepher
I wish this lady a lot of success. I like her hustle.

Channing is a national treasure and needs to be protected at all costs! In all seriousness this was a great interview. Taylor has always been someone I’ve listened to because she has a way of making people feel comfort and they can trust her. Keep up the good work guys. 🤟🏿

I love Ryan Clark man... I don't mean that in a funny way, I love his spirit. I love what he is doing and trying to become... A great example for young men... Not just young black men, but all young men. Salute Ryan Clark!!

RC is so smooth with his transitional questions. He does a really good job of setting tone and leading the guest through an entertaining interview. Also, I laughed out loud in public when Chan explain when he stops acting like a cat during role playing‼️ 🤣🤣🤣
  • @LBxType1
He did it he brought up his wife and the kinks lmfao love that dude he’s 100% open and vulnerable
  • @catkinson42
I respect the fact that they didn't try to sexualize her and filmed her a certain way. Kudos to the guys man! Protect our black women.
  • @DrezzyDre
"...once I start droppin' d*ck!!"😂😂😂man, Channing got me in fckng tears😂😂😂😂😂😂😂real fckng tears
  • @peytonjmusic
Gotta appreciate how consistent Channing is. Like he’s himself and says what’s on his mind no matter who they have in.
  • @jazzzsexy
Channing is my dude. That cat roleplay story with his wife was hilarious! Lol!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Even while she's getting interviewed, she can't help but go into work mode lol. You can tell she loves what she does for a living.
  • Class personified. Going to show this to my daughters. She said “I want everything this world can give me” I tell my daughters this all the time. Have respect/ get respect, be intelligent, and speak and move with confidence.

"YOU CAN'T BLAME BLACK WOMEN FOR EXISTING!" I love that & totally felt that statement in my bones. This is such an amazingly powerful conversation & so relatable, especially as a woman who works with a ton of men just literally trying to do her best and be the best at what she does. It's so inspiring to see her confidence as a woman, even more so as a successful black woman in her line of work. Totally loved how she corrected without being disrespectful, was able to have a conversation with men without being sexualized, just 200 thumbs up for me. Every episode and I fall in love with this podcast more and more.
  • @whodat5492
Taylor, is well read- beautiful and career driven! Proud of this young lady!
  • @OutWestIllinois
Always good interviews, but Channing is the reason I come back. When he tells his stories, he doesn't sugar coat anything 😂😂
  • @heevestenry5384
This convo was needed, especially the part about how a black woman's body just automatically changes the way clothes fits her. Channing was allowed to ask the question and he wasn't admonished for not knowing the reason. He learned and in turn we learned. I honestly never thought of it that way until watching this interview, thank you.
