As much as I love/hate this, I would love to see more "unique" helmet styles that actually work, are safe, and have solid engineering behind them.

$200 for this is nuts. You can get some really safe entry level helmets for under $200 that blow it out of the water.

If you left that Predator Helmet on one parked bike and a new Arai on another bike, some idiot would steal the Predator!

Something that EVERY rider should know is that DOT certification doesn't mean a single thing for safety. First off the specs to hit for DOT certification is laughably poor. It's based on very outdated information. Secondly it's a SELF CERTIFIED system, meaning the manafacturer tests it, or gets it tested by a non government 3rd party, they say it passed and that's it. The government doesn't issue the certification, and when tested many many "DOT certified" helmets fail the test. Fortnine has a great video about how garbage DOT is. If you care about safety, do your research
  • I buy my helmets at the junkyard. Great brands for cheap, just little scratches and sometimes a few teeth in the lining.
  • @John_Ridley
With the noise and limited visibility that helmet gives, it's pretty easy to argue that you might easily be safer wearing no helmet.
  • @MrRiddick225
Thank you for this. I was "thinking" about buying a "predator" helmet. You have saved me $150 - $ 250 and some torment.

i miss whitney. she should be on more videos. haven't seen her on the channel in a good long while.
  • @dukie1616
I’ve seen these worn in the wild and pretty sure each time the culprit was on some gaudy metallic anodized Busa.
  • @Fin.mint.
You should definitely but it under a band saw and see whats in it.
  • The skull and crossbones is there to tell you how well the helmet works.
  • This makes me wonder why DOT is even a thing. If this helmet can get a safetyrating at all the rating should not exist.
  • @purplehaze5611
And the wildest part about this helmet is after you take the predator dreds and face s Shield off it would get a thumbs up from a whooping 75% of the crusier community.
  • @deaks25
It was when I saw that novelty helmet had screws in it, I knew it was a piece of garbage. Pointed metal objects that drill into the structure that is supposed to protect my head and angled to be punched into my skull in a crash gets a huge "nope" from me. A couple of years ago here in the UK a series of Chinese helmets were banned from sale because they were not safe and yet apparently still had a DOT certificate, which makes me wonder what the requirements for a DOT certificate are!
  • @pd1jdw630
Wow. That’s just horrible. Considering for half the price you can get a much better helmet that is good and approved. Thanks for keeping us informed. 👌🏻
  • @docp9956
Alright hold up, the first ad that cut in right after he was clacking the helmet open and closed... An insurance ad. We are farmers (then bricks falling and making a clacking noise that was almost identical to the clacking from the helmet closing). Idk if this was pure coincidence but it was perfect. 😂
  • @phil4986
Great review.I saw this novelty helmet and guessed as much. I prefer ,at the least, the cheapest standard helmet you reviewed at the end of the video. Nothing cool about getting run over or running into anything because you can't see through your novelty helmet. Thank you for reviewing it honestly.

Finally, Whitney has finally graced us with her presence!. Where have you been?!
  • @amerikanviking
I have a very nice and reliable helmet that developed a whistle on the top two vents. I'm still stumped as to how that happened. But, it definitely has nothing to do with the fact my wife dropped it on the asphalt. Certainly not.
