In an alternate reality, kerbals realize that space is kinda terrifying and now refuse to leave Kerbin. Can we still unlock the whole tech tree?

OK, two things: 1. Epilepsy/flashing lights warning from 8:08-8:17 2. Go check out the video that inspired me to try and beat KSP without leaving Kerbin! It contains a more detailed explanation of how the science lab works than I give in this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOP6dQEJaTU&t=0s 2.5: we getting close to 1000 subs boys, thanks a bunch ok bye

You forgot one thing kerbals don’t have to go to space themselves, they have probes. Or are they to afraid to use those too.
  • @CultReport
i love how the kerbals are just learning theoretical physics from rocks
  • @Oroberus
The Space Kraken is indeed real and the chances to encounter it are directly linked to the amound of parts you used in your vessel in combination with the amount of speed-up you use g

this is awesome. made me think of another challenge in the same vein of kerbals being scared: no manned vehicles as soon as possible/outside of the ksc. vessels can be sent anywhere, as long as they're unmanned. manned vessels and kerbals are only allowed on the ksc

You can remove your kerbals' EVA packs in the VAB/SPH for marginal weight savings. I mean, they're never leaving Kerbin, they don't need EVA packs.

"Do you think God hides in heaven because he too is afraid of that he has created?" (The Kerbals fear Dres)

lmao, i remember using the "tumble drier" in the demo to explore more of the ground easily. it was indeed very difficult to control
  • I just built my first ever mobile lab and with my crewed minimal minmus run (of like 3 or 4 biomes) after about 5 years of researching I've maxed out the tech tree for the first time

dude this is QUALITY content, you are massively underrated man
  • this seems quite accurate to real life, back in 1967 my uncle worked for Nasa, and he told me that Werner von Braun was rolling around in some mud one day, and suddenly just knew how to build a Saturn V! Ig you call me a liar your cyber bullying me.

Instantly subbed when I heard the Wallace & Gromit music. Rad video too. I knew you'd never get it done on Career Mode. KSP can be brutal.

Interesting that you can upload the data in flight and then process on the ground without penalty. I did a build where a solar-powered (prop) plane did an equatorial solar-synchronous flight, i.e. flew around Kerbin at the same speed Kerbin rotated, so it stayed in the sun and powered. It required ~180 m/s at ~10km from only an electric rotor. It would be interesting to see if such a plane could be built with a science lab onboard, for a permanent aerial research station.
  • There's a better alternative to the tumble dryer, once you get the steerable landing gear. If you make a craft with a steerable landing gear and a pod at the front, and 2 fixed landing gear and your science things at the back, you can build up some decent speed using only the reaction wheels by wiggling it back and fourth like a rip stick, and it's WAY easier to steer. The fixed landing gear need to be significantly further from the command pod than the the steerable one is, though. When I'm being lazy and cheesing the KSC science to get a bit further before I start actually launching rockets, that's my preferred craft until I get rover wheels.

I think it would be cool if the kernels in ksp2 could find humanity on interstellar space

This was good! You're really funny and deserve more subscribers
