It was finally time to do some more underwater filming for pike! After my last underwater video I really wanted to get out and see how fish would react to baits in the cooler waters. We also take a look at different bait and presentations. For example sea baits, fresh waters baits, popped up and laid on the bottom to see how the fish react and how they take It. Its a must watch if you like bait fishing for pike!

A lot of people despise "bait and wait" fishing but for me it's one of my absolute favorites. Thanks for all the info!

Thanks Chris…total fascinating watching how they react to different baits…just shows you could be sat there either using the wrong baits on that day or not giving them long enough to take…I tend to move quite quickly if I’ve had no interest instantly…really appreciate it…great watch as always👍🏻

Truly wonderful Chris. Your underwater filming is so helpful and has helped us understand better the pikes behaviour, and when we just wonder what’s going on down there when our bate is on the bottom. Great work. What a truly beautiful fish the Pike are.😊👍

I love how you say "fingers crossed we get some fish on the bank". You're so humble champ!

Great. Yes, more movies like this. They show the true reaction of the fish.

From Northern Ontario where Pike abound this was an excellent video on how pike react as they get ready to strike. I’ve been lucky to have caught pike ranging from 20-29 pounds. I work in a fishing tackle store and I tell my customers that pike prefer dead bait. Dead bait gives them time to size up their next meal. Nothing beats a dead bait under a float for pike fishing. I still get a thrill as the bobber dances on the surface then plunges under as the pike hammers the bait! Awesome underwater video I really enjoyed it!

Stunning footage Chris! Very well done! They check that bait out with pure elegance, great to see them moving and reacting to bait in this way 👏

Amazing to see how the last pike, with a "gulp", scoops the dead bait from the bottom. A real baller! Nice vid as usual man!

  • Chris your videos are the best fishing vids on youtube no question. thanks
  • @needham831
You can see that most of those fish have been laying doggo during the bad weather because of the water leeches on them. The footage is amazing as usual. Good one Chris. 👍

As clearly interested in the bait as they were, worthy of note was how prudent their attitude towards both the bait and the camera. Great video - thanks!
