My name is Paul Third and I am a Scottish youtuber / audio engineer / mixing engineer / audio geek. I mostly cover audio engineering related content ranging from audio plugin shootouts / plugin comparisons (acustica audio plugins, universal audio etc etc) to actual analog vs digital / gear vs plugins plugin tests via access analog and mix analog. I even include ddmf plugindoctor tutorials in my plugin reviews so you can be your very own plugin tester and experiment and understand whats actually going on under the hood.
All of my content is produced in Presonus studio one 6 which is my main daw and in terms of my audio interface I record and monitor through a universal audio apollo x6 through topping dx7 pro+ dac/amp and use a Lauten Atlantis for all of my voice overs.

Good advice paul :) My friend just went through the same and has come out of it cancer free and even if you get the worst news like he did if you have a positive attitude this will make a a massive difference. Excellent video. I got really lucky at the beginning of my career when I transitioned from a full-time muso to make friends with a guy who turned out to be one of the best engineers in my country, I didn't even know. I was really good with DAWs and plugins at the time, so we traded knowledge for technical help. He really set me up on my path, and we're still constantly helping each other out with info 25 years later.

Great advice Paul! It is certainly a difficult business to get into with all the possibilities that people have in their home studios nowadays. You need to offer something people just can't do at home, and ATMOS mixing could be such a thing. I don't know about the importance of live recordings nowadays, which needs a studio too. Fingers crossed.

Paul, I do this for almost 40 years, besides beeing a lawyer. You are right, my best learning curves was working with other producers and engineers in the studio, and theirs. The most important thing is, get to know your own abilities, your own room and proper speakers, then you are already 80% there. And be ready for when that right client comes who will change everything. You will not get a second change if you f.. it up.

Damn man, your channel blew up since I last saw. Nice one!!!! Don't worry about the MRI, everything will be good. There could be a hundred reasons why your liver is not functioning correctly for now.
