Garden Planning 2024 - Phase 1 - Zone 8B/9A

Published 2024-01-14
It's a personal goal of mine this year to be more organized and put more thought into my garden spaces. I'll be sharing my garden planning process with you in three phases:

- Phase 1: Variety selection
- Phase 2: Garden space design
- Phrase 3: Transplanting + first full garden tour of the year!

This is phase 1 and in addition to cover the topics outlined in phase 1 above, I will be going into a bit of detail around the difference between stratification and scarification.

STEPS:
1.Identify varities you want to grow.
2. Identify seeds that need prep (propagation, stratification, etc)
3. Identify transplant date by zone.
4. Work backwards to set a "start inside" date
5. Continue to work backwards to set "prep" dates

  • Oh my goodness, I wish I could be this organized 😂. You’re so amazing. Last year I told myself I would plan better, but here we are at the end of April and I’m more behind than last year. It’s just the season of life I’m in, but I’m doing my best. I can’t wait to see your tours!!! 💙
  • Oh, and I’d love a video about growing moringa. Tips from seed would be helpful. I have tried the past 2 years and haven’t seemed to get past the seedling phase 🤣
