  • just realised the name change from cosmic skeptic to alex o connor. i’m glad you feel comfortable enough to use your real name, one of my favourite content creators 🐐
  • @bernielarson8770
Alex, I am a Christian. Just wanted to say that I love your videos, and from what I have seen in your videos is a very polite, respectful, extremely intelligent, empathetic man who is genuinely and unashamedly searching for the truth. Thank you for your channel and the challenging arguments that you bring up!!
  • @CellarDoor-rt8tt
@4:49 as someone who has panic attacks about death and dying because I don’t know what will happen to my consciousness, I literally know for a fact that I would be a happier person if I were to be truly convinced of god’s existence. Yet, I remain unconvinced

I just discovered Alex tonight. Been snooping around his podcast and youtube vids. Very excited to dive into his work.

As a muslim one thing I love about Alex is his demeanor and class act. He does not raise his voice, He does not disrespect the people he debates and his proficiency in verbal communication is truly remarkable and articulate.
  • From watching a young lad doing debunks in his bedroom to Conversations with some of the greatest minds of our time. It’s been a Joy to see your career take off.
  • @Ibis_W0lfie
Its so lovley to hear a debate where everyone isn't speaking over each other and isn't shouting
  • As a Christian, I am touched to hear your experience searching for God. I truly find your first argument quite difficult to respond to when I am naturally convinced that God would reveal himself to any non-resisting non-believers. My faith is still and will surely stay unbending because of my experience, philosophical views, and historical data backing up the center of Christianism, Jesus. Still, I am very perplexed by your condition.. And loving your content ! Cheers

I like how polite everyone is, they don't interrupt but are here to listen to a debate and let everyone speak.
  • @wishmakr
That was one of the best deliveries, I have ever heard. I was engaged the whole time. You didn't make anyone feel dumb, you made yourself incredibly likeable(in my opinion) and I will be surprised if you didn't open a few eyes in the process. Excellent speech. I feel like you can definitely call yourself an authority on this subject.
  • @PatrickWDunne
Alex's arguments are impeccable. Great video as always!
  • @neil1killick
Alex, you are the most eloquently intelligent young person I have come across in a long time. I have listened to a lot of theism vs atheism debates and have never come across the "non-resistant believer" argument. As someone who longs for more critical thinking in this world, I will surely share your content with others who need to hear it. Thank you.

As a Christian, I love free speech and the respect given to his lecture. It’s very important to listen to opposers and supporters of your beliefs
  • @JosephNusse
I am in every way a Non-Resistant Non-believer. I was raised in a religious house and dearly miss the sense of belonging and purpose. I am also fearful of living in an unmoored society that is clearly incapable of regulating itself. I am sad to say I wish it was true, know it was not, and know that we are better off if everybody believed. There have never been any voices in my head or sense of protection in my times of need despite the cries for help.
  • @Infideles
If an omniscient, omnipotent being exists and created me in every aspect of my being, then his reality should be even more obvious and clear to me than is my awareness of myself. If I have any doubts, he knows precisely the level of "proof" I might need to accept his reality. I have no direct awareness of any such being, nor have I received proof of any kind that verifies his existence. "Divine Hiddenness" is an issue that no theologian I've ever read has been able to explain.
  • @PigBenis4U
The spirit of Hitchins is strong in you. Bravo!
  • The first point is exactly the reason I stopped believing in gods, there is no answer, nothing definitive that points necessarily to god. At the beginning it was disappointing, but now I feel free and at peace. Brilliant lecture.
  • @hc4138
I love how Alex changed over the years; from a teenage atheist filming youtube videos to giving talks in universities. I've pretty much entered uni the same time he did and I got to explore quite a lot in terms of science and relgion - having done a biological anthropology related course in London. I really connect to him and I really respect the path he has taken to achieve where he is now :)
  • The geography one alone was enough for me to know that religion in general was extremely unlikely to be true. None of it makes logical sense!
