Avid has Nashville by the balls lmao

One thing I’ve learned from a lot of these YouTube Audio Engineers is that. Every so often they change gears and call it the best decision of their lives. I use to think you need the best gears to make great music. Just use what you have and learn your gears. Hardwares are great focus of your craft until you get where you want to be.

That thunderbolt chassis will never stay on your desk once the hdx fan kicks in 😂 I love mine but they stay as far away as can be!
  • @TheSlim.
in next video he be like, hey guy's i'm selling my avid
  • The real problem is Avid. They don't want native Pro Tools to compensate delays automatically when using hardware precisely to sell HD setups which is absolutely annoying when you know that Logic for example can calculate for delay when using hardware inserts in a click of an button ...
  • I love HDX. Bought the card new off eBay in 2018 for $2,100 and never looked back. Tracking on HDX is a dream.

Welcome back to HD brother, we’ve been waiting for you. 😂😂 I’m equally excited for you. Let go!
  • Studio One pipelines do all the calculations/compensations for you. +1 for S1

I do have a question about this gear. I've been looking for a rig where I have zero latency with plugins, and the closest thing I could get is connecting the mic or instrument to the audio interface, using my pod xt pro via spdif and monitor with that while I record the interface input on the daw. the problem with that is I can't do the same with my plugins which I like more. Is a pro tools hd rig like the one you have going to solve that? Im willing to pull the trigger on a that rig but only if it solves my issue. thank you in advance and cheers from Puerto Rico.
  • I was going to buy a UA interface because I liked some of the plugins I can’t get natively. But eventually opted for the RME Babyface Pro FS for now and don’t regret it. Will eventually grab a Avid Pro Tools Carbon when the workflow calls for it 😜
  • I'm glad I mix in the box. Love my Apollo for at home. I have a digital mixer as an interface at work. Glad you're stoked!
  • Lynx Aurora (n) is a great converter as well. Up to 32 I/O in one rack!
  • @mojo827
Are you still using the Mbox Studio in the small room? Thoughts on that v Apollo?
  • Question for ya. How's pro tools with it's midi functions/features? I started with pro tools and mainly recorded vocals/a few instruments for clients. Once I started doing music production as well, I use ableton and it's intutive and amazing. However has latency issues and doesn't have the robust mixing features/latency features that pro tools has. Wondering how well midi works in pro tools? Or is it more of a live instrument recording type of DAW? Thank you for any input you have on this!!

I have HDX and IMO tracking guitars with DI using DSP Amp Emulator with zero latency was a game changer. I also had the MTRX Studio and the big question for you is your plans for the grace m905. i went back and forth as the m905 is so nice.
  • @RoxXy-84
Apollo x16 has 16ins and outs and monitors, currently ADC is working for HW inserts, however there have been problems some years ago, can not comment on mk2 Apollo…
  • I agree, many times an artist wants to add or change a part during mixing; so I just bounce out my mix, create a new session, then import the changes back into the mix session. It is a lot more economical than spending $25-30k. And yes I have 24 channels of outboard gear. I keep I/O templates for all the sample rates & my Antelope Orion via TB handles it all like a champ.

That's awesome Cole. Does Matrix have the time delay and room correction for the Atmos system?
