Sierra Leone is the only country with a transparent process for citizenship for the black diaspora.

My Spirit accepted Nigeria, currently I am visiting Lagos in August.

I recommend Zimbabwe. The people are ethnically related to people in SA, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and Botswana. Education for kids is the best in Southern Africa.

Folks, one more thing. There is no such a thing as "free" citizenship anywhere. Citizens of any country have duties and responsibilities such as paying taxes and so on. I want to make sure that your audience are aware of it. That said, I believe that you have a RIGHT to return to Africa, but without being forced to denounce your American citizenship.

I love seeing our people promoting life in the Motherland. I'm so tired of hearing about Europe, if I'm honest. It's a shame that many African Americans only go to European countries. You guys are doing an amazing job. I feel that Zambia, Botswana, and Malawi could be hidden gems for us. Any information on those countries?
  • Glad you added the disclaimer at the end about the roll out. I also came across the mentioned website and when I researched additional information on citizenship as an African-American it was very difficult to find. Also, many of the ancestry language states that you often have to have a close relative such as a parent or grandparent from the required lineage. Thus, it is very important for people to double check these.
  • Black american always wondering where to go in africa yes that right, but at first Africa is home no matter you find yourself the only thing to do is to embrace the African culture which is your ancestors cultures, secondly some location are high profile due to the strongest economie, financial system, political stability, freedom of speech and humans rights ,peaceful and low crimes ,no corruption and so on in that case there's no county beat Botswana and Namibia best country in africa ever in the southern afrca.ghana in the west africa, kenya and tanzania in the Est africa ,but as for me Ghana have a good and open policy for all african american, but botswana and Namibia have an amazing health care and education ,stable economy, stable government, low population less than 5 millions, good infrastructures after all there are the most peaceful countries to raise your kids for better future where your amercian child can feel home and among his peoples without discrimination.
  • IM A SO CALLED AFRICAN AMERICAN AND IM MARRIED TO A BEAUTIFUL ZIM WOMAN, HAVE BEEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES AND WILL BE MOVING THERE SOON. THE COUNTRY IS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND PEACFUL I RECOMMEND THIS COUNTRY TO ALL OUR PEOPLE..................SHALOM.

Nothing has really changed since Ghana first offered the right of return a few years back. Other African countries haven't followed suit. They'd just given lip service without proposing specifics. Ghana still is the only viable option on the continent. Maybe Sierra Leone but frankly, they're not my cup of tea. Almost 3 years ago, the Namibian govt also proposed a residency deal for diaspora, but they haven't followed up on it since then. The South African proposal sounds phony. No other sources are talking about it. Besides, I kind of lost interest in SA after their government entered into a power sharing agreement with the white minority political party. I can deal with the load shedding & water crises, but I can't deal with a black run country sellling out to global white interests. At least they're the devil I know in the states

I think I like Ghana's approach. "The Right of Abode" for ALL diaspora Africans. No need for DNA. You have the RIGHT for permanent residence, leading to citizenship if you so wish. This is generous. My research indicate that this RIGHT of ABODE ACT has been in existence since 2001, 23 years ago. Haven the RIGHT even before I set foot in the country is heartwarming.

First time coming across your page! 🙏🏾 I call myself the reverse expat-in-training 😂 (family from Panama 🇵🇦 but I’m 1st Gen-American from NYC). I took my first solo trip in February to Cape Town & JoBurg, South Africa 🇿🇦 and I fell in LOVE with the African culture there. I was unaware of the information you’ve provided until now, and I would love to have citizenship in an African country. Doing my research 🤓📝 now! Thank you ❤✊🏾🙏🏾
