This is my mid 40s International 403 combine i bought for $450 from an old farmer. He was the second owner. I put the Innes straw chopper on it. I found it half burried in the dirt in some old junk behind my dads farm when i was a kid. I never knew what it was till i got curious one day and dug it up. I sand blasted and painted it and put new bearings in it after i figured out it was an after market chopper and it was kinda universal. Its way better now than having a mess of straw when your wheat is thick. I love running this old equipment no matter how slow they are or how itchy you get.

I saw a YouTube notification, and had to watch your video again. I got excited, because I don’t do much on YouTube
  • Thats an early 60s machine. Had a pair of them when I started farming on my own. Was the best machine on the market at the time. We always kept the unloading spout away from the timber on the outside round, it's easy to get it tangled in the trees. Also on that chopper, be sure to install an alarm switch above the rear of the walkers to warn of blockage at the chopper. It's easy for the chopper to cause a back up of straw and that will cause the walkers to be destroyed by the pressure of the blockage. I learned that the hard way, it also bends the cranks, that was the demise of the walker type straw racks in combines, and the reason for the advent of the rotary combine.

Old stuff is the best! I agree. It's also the only thing I can afford. haha But I wouldn't want new anyways, so it works out just fine.
