A tip for speed-runners or just normal player: To find a bastion or a fortress in nether, just hit f3, after that you will see 3 lines in the center (red showing x-axis, blue showing z-axis and green showing y-axis). Let these line be called lets say cartesian lines. Always remember that a nether fortress or a bastion will never spawn on these cartesian lines, you always have to travel diagonally to find them; mostly in the (+,+) or (-,-) quadrants. Moreover, another trick is the entity counter in the f3 screen like in 2:35 . It is very simple, a bastion or a nether fortress around us will always show more entities (50+), and normally 10-30 entities are shown. I hope this makes u you a better mc player:)

1) turn off fog in setting to see more clearly . 2) if u are using optifine turn on dynamic pov to zoom in using c and turn dynamic light on 3) turn on subtitles in setting to have a clear understanding of what entities are near u . 4) whenever is open area ,use f5 it helps a lot 5) place tnt at a gap of 3 or 4 blocks and use your flame bow to ignite them instead of flint and steel
