Another great video, love the noise of the tamper as it trundles along and good amount of captions in your videos 👌
  • Very interesting; thanks for posting. Seemed very quiet between Eastleigh and Worting Jn on the down line though.

excellent video. I had no idea the Eastleigh-Micheldever incline was so intense. Makes sense why they had the 4-REP & REP powere 442 on that route. No wonder the 5 car 444 has nearly 2700hp!

Thanks, very interesing. A section of track I know quite well. I wonder what the 66 driver though of having to wait in the loop for a Tamper to pass (unless you had a passenger train following you).
  • @rubyait
And another video is coming! Great! Can hardly wait.

There seems to be a distinct lack of trains about, have the TOC's cut down their service levels?
  • @Ingramdumpkiss
Curious why the car empties which can travel at 60mph and which would come off at Basingstoke anyway has been held in the loop to allow a tamper with the same speed to overtake! The Freight companies have been complaining that they lose business and revenuw because some trains are held for hours on their journeys by signallers who seem happy to let them sit in loops for ever!
  • @ANTHONYBOOTH
did you go and buy a woking stick from Woking? :p
  • Good grief! Was that a C73 you passed under that bridge at 43:20??? I thought they'd be long disposed of? Then that interesting C56(?) / C37 movement at 46:30? It was never that interesting when I lived near these lines. lol. (Sorry, former rail nerd!)
  • @CliqueSpace
Does anyone know what happened to Freight Rambler?

Noisy. Are Ear Defenders worn on these machines?
